So sorry for the loss of my arts colleague- truly an inspiration for all of us @HHS! He continually “ pleasantly “ pushed me personally when we were in production of the Senior Play- many good discussions & many good hugs!! I will miss his candid appraisals, and his infectious laugh!! Truly a Teacher’s Teacher! Rest in Peace ! Break a leg Tom!!❤️❤️

Goodbye for Now, My Friend
Goodbye for Now, My Friend

Ernestine Capps Nagell

Tom Orr was my Friend, from High School until now. My heart aches to have to say goodbye to a man that always lifted my spirits, every time I saw him. He was so kind, caring, intelligent and humorous. He will always be a Legend for Hendersonville, although he would laugh and make a joke about that. I will miss seeing him at the library, in a grocery store, at a City Event, or at Mills River Restaurant. It hurts deeply now, but I know I will see him again one day, and that is my comfort. I truly hope Hendersonville and Henderson County, will consider a statue of “Mr. Thomas Orr”, to represent a truly great historian, teacher, and lover of mankind. My sympathy and love go out to his Family, and to his larger Family - Hendersonville, NC.
