I was privileged to serve with Jean at The Storehouse. She was a true Christian lady with an infinite capacity for love.

To Ed and Marla and all of your family, I'm so sorry about the passing of your mother. I'm sending all my prayers and thoughts to you and your family during this difficult time. I remember having met your mother a few times in Plymouth over the years and enjoyed the small talk that we had. She’s one great women and I’m glad to have met her.

My thoughts and words are only of joy when I consider Jean along with Ed. These people have always made I and my husband feel such whenever in their presence. In reading Jean's life history the corners of my mouth again turned up thinking the following thoughts: She got her payback with son's having all daughters. Now I know why the Boots and Brackens (great folks also) are such good friends, all having lived in Summerville, SC so long. And even before Henderson, NC Ed assured a beautiful home for Jean (information I heard from other dancing cohorts). There's something special about veterans, so too their wives, as to understanding of life and devotion. So often knowing with certainty and at first glance that this is to be the person they are to marry (God does provide his rewards for sacrifice). Jean danced with one's love amongst friends here on earth and now with all the same minded souls in heaven. How wonderful when we all hook up again for a do si do or a spin maneuver.
