Saundra Saundra was my best friend. She was always there for me to listen and to cheer me up. I have met her on 1995 where she introduced me to the hiking club. We shared a lot of wonderful times hiking the trails, including the 40 over 6000 hikes in NC. Her wonderful attitude towards life sheered everyone up all the time. Her trail name was “SUNNY HIGH” true to her personality. So, Sunny High, I will miss you terribly and always remember you. I hope you are resting In peace now and let your spirit soar high like an eagle. With love❤️

Our Aunt Saundra was very special to all of the Rydin family. She was a wonderful wife to our Uncle Ted and we shared so many fun holidays and birthdays together. I especially remember all the trips to Flat Rock with my mom in her later years and with my daughter Meghan where we visited the Carl Sandburg home where Saundra used to be a docent. We were so glad when she reconnected with her high school friend Jim after my Uncle Ted passed and that they had several years together. She was a beautiful lady inside and out and she is missed by all of us.

I met Saundra when I first moved here 6 years ago. We were paired together at a few ladies' luncheons. She was a very special lady, always ready with a smile. Although I didn't know her well, she will resonate in my memory for her friendliness, courageousness, and overall joyful personality even in the face of adversity.

Saundra will forever be in our hearts. Such an uplifting spirit. She was always smiling and laughing and never complained about anything. We were a lunch bunch. Saundra wanted to name our group so we became the “Sassy Sisters”. So much fun and laughter. I will cherish the time we spent together and I am proud to have had the opportunity to call her my friend. ❤️

We don't think we have ever met anyone with such a joy for life as Saundra. We will always cherish the days on the mountain trails with her.

I was very fortunate to have known Saundra. She brightened the time we spent together at our luncheon dates. Her kindness and ability to make everyone smile will be greatly missed.
