Wish I could be there in person to pay my respects. Steve is the kind of man this world needs more of. Completely selfless and genuine. Our time together with him was very short, but the kind of person he is was immediately recognizable. He’s truly missed.

Steve was an incredible man who introduced me to a family of amazing people. I will always be grateful for all he did for me. Steve will forever be missed.

He was always an accepting friend. The longer I knew him the more respect I held for him seeing his heart was what he lived by. Anyone that knew him is a better person for being around his example. Learning to love people and getting things done right. I pray God's comfort for Donna and family thru this difficult time.

Steve will be remembered for his service both public and personal. Over the years and during his time at the county’s inspection office, we always took time to speak to each other. With me being an electrician and him being a plumber, there was always a little ribbing back and forth. I always admired him for his commitment to public service, and told him so often. I’ll always wish we had spent more time talking about what we had in common and what we didn’t. Amy approached me years ago about my family genealogy and how it might be tied to hers. I shared what I knew about mine and how we were connected. She thought that was “so cool”. I cried when she passed, so suddenly. I really felt bad for Steve and Lance. Life’s that way though. When you least expect it, it throws you a curve. The legacy Steve left behind will continue as a tribute to his kind heart and passion for others. I’m glad I got to know him, and share a little life with him. Well done Steve, well done. .

I worked with Steve on HSAD. His passion for making Hendersonville a better place for everyone inspired many people. His attitude and work ethic should serve as a role model to ALL future Hendersonville City Council members. Hendersonville lost a special friend!
