I can’t believe I didn’t get a call that you were in hospice . We talked every 2 -3 weeks and I would have been there, but maybe that’s why I didn’t get that call . I have so many memories with you . I went through your parents passing and your brother Dick when I made you go to SC and you got your brother in hospice with the help of his daughter. I know you have gone through so much in such a short time . There will always be those funny memories that I will never forget , especially the time you got the fish hook caught in your ear lobe and you told me to take the needle nose pliers and get it out no matter what . I truly wish I would of known about your memorial . Rest In Peace My Friend , I will never forget you . Susan

Penny's keen intelligence, wry humor, beautiful smile and volunteer spirit will be greatly missed by George and me, and many others who were fortunate to know her through LYC. People of Penny's caliber are very rare indeed. We extend our sincere condolences to Fred and their entire family, who of course will miss her the most. May she rest in peace.
what a great friend...i moved to Edneyville in 1966...Ronnie was one of the first people I met...we became great friends and brothers...i have so many great memories... camping, helping him feed all the animals, fishing and hunting, Hoss and Little Joe (Ronnie's 2 beagles), Bessie...working on cars and going to S.C. right over the county line to buy fireworks....his mom Mary Jane made unbelievable biscuits, me and Ronnie ate a bunch of those...i think i could go on for hours....what a great friend...what a day that will be when we see each other again in Heaven...
When my family moved here in '95 I met Jay. His yard was always full of animals. My son would visit a horse and marvel at the eyes of his goats by We met Jay in '95 when we moved in across from his mini farm. My son would like to pet the horse and the goats next to Early Rd across from us. He was always friendly. Rest in Peace Jay. We will remember you.
We are so very sorry to read about Penny’s passing. Penny was such an integral member of LYC. She was a mentor to me when I served as Women’s Committee chair. She was a talented knitter and was happy to share her knowledge and skills with others. She was secretary during John’s Commodore term and kept him appraised of all important information. Five past commodores were eager to nominate the Hahn’s for Emeritus status. When I last spoke with her in December Penny reminded me of our sailing lesson experience of capsizing in the Puffer and we still had a good laugh. Our prayers and thoughts are with Fred and her Family. Sincerely Alice and John Comer
Condolences to the family. The LYC race committee will miss Penny at the finish line. May her memory be a blessing.
Penny was such an integral part of LYC. She was on the membership committee when Joe & I were chairpersons & had been for years. As secretary you could always count on her to ‘record’ the meetings on the recorder she always used. Penny could be seen volunteering at various events. My funniest time spent with Penny was our decision to take a sailing lesson on one of the club boats. We capsized & tried to get back in the boat, but we were laughing so hard it didn’t go very smoothly. We will miss her & our heartfelt sympathies go out to Fred & their family.
Penny was such an integral part of LYC. When Joe & I were membership chairs Penny was part of our committee & had been in previous years. She was a great secretary. I remember she used a recorder at meetings so as not to miss anything. You would always see her serving food or volunteering at various club events. My first & funniest time with Penny was our decision to take sailing lessons on the club boat. We capsized & tried to get back in the boat, but we were all laughing so hard we didn’t make it! We will miss her & we send our sincere condolences to Fred & their family!
My deepest sympathies to Fred and Family. Penny was so active in LYC , and we enjoyed playing Mah Jongg with her and her round robin Mah Jongg event every year. She will be missed by all.
Our deepest sympathies on Penny’s passing She was such an active member of LYC! I worked with her in Membership and I remember she and Fred for years on WPI as well as LYC The Wright family owned a home just down the street from their “Swiss Chalet” style home on Pershing Blvd! Many memories Enjoyed Penny’ s energy and spirit! I did not know she was an educator and supervisor which does not surprise me one bit! Peace, Suzy Wright and Brian Emmanuelle
The first time I met Penny she was House Treasurer as my husband I were House chairs at LYC. She later went on to be the Club Secretary when I started creating the LYC directory. She was wonderful at both roles and helped us immensely. Later she taught me how to play Mahjong, a game I now love. I will miss you!
I met Jay & his family when we moved out Warrior Mountain on Earley Rd. He had that huge barnyard of all kind of animals, ducks, and fowl. His peacock screaming would make the hair on my harms stand up. Jay was always kind and would help us out anytime we needed it. He pulled my car outta my yard one time when I got it mired up. My daughter, Melinda, would go over to visit Jay with her granddaddy, Roy Morgan. Jay would lead her around on a small donkey & let her play with any thing she could catch. Roy Morgan and Jay were best friends. You're home now Jay with Ronda. Rest peacefully.
I remember Jay and my brothers, Gene and Tim Tucker, playing softball at Harmon Field. Jay and Tim were always trying to outdo each other on the home runs. I will be praying for the family.
Rest In Peace neighbor. I’m so sorry for your loss Peggy and Kim and family.
Man loved his family

Homer was a wonderful man and friend. When I worked at Cranston, he was always so kind to me. Made sure I got home in bad weather and always asked about my family, especially when my husband was in Vietnam. Never failed to tell me he was praying for us. Precious memories. Of your Dad, Steven and of you from our school years!
Jim, so sorry for the loss of your precious Mother. I have fond memories of her and your Dad. I know how it feels to deal with this loss. Prayers for you and yours.
We are so sorry to hear of Stan's passing. We were so close to Stan and Gail many years ago (1970-1971) in Towanda and Sayre, PA. Spent nearly every weekend together. Stan and I honed both our BBQ sauce and our miserable golfing skills week after week. Stan I guess became a BBQ expert - I doubt either of us achieved much success with our golf. Cathy and I were just talking about those days this weekend and the fun times we had when we were so young those many years ago. Time flies and our lives are fleeting, but we do not forget those who were important to us and who leave good memories behind. Best wishes and God Bless to you Bradley. P.S. if you wouldn't mind, please email us with information about your mother.
Marietta was one of the closest friends my parents, Arnie and Marge had. I had the highest regard for because they did. My deepest condolences to Lewis and the boys, ith whom I attended high school.
It was with great sadness that I learned of Helen's transition to a larger life, but also rejoice that she is now dancing with the saints. I am so sorry that I cannot be there today buy wanted you to know you are all in my prayers.
So sorry for your loss. Prayers sent for you and the family. I always look forward to see James when we exercised at Pardee then went for coffee and talked.
My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family at this very difficult time.
I’m so very sorry for your loss! Sending hugs, love, prayers & strength to you all! I’m friends with Denise & Benny. God be with you all
Thoughts and prayers for the family. May God bless you and comfort you as you grieve for your loved one.
Jack was a fellow Trucker and a great Friend and was always friendly to my Daughter Haley and I. I am sorry to hear we have lost such a fine Man.
My deepest sympathies go out to you and your family. May God give you the peace that you seek.
I had the pleasure to meet Wilma 10 years ago through our volunteer work with WCC. She was unapologetically herself: lover of coffee, a good G&T, and spending time with family and friends. I will miss her daily coffee posts, groaners, and kind soul. Wilma, I know you’re having some spectacular reunions up in heaven while still looking out for us here (while making sure we get into a proper amount of mischief). I will remember you always.
I just heard of Isaac's passing and had to leave my condolences. We worked together for several years, and I sat right next to him, so we got to know each other very well. He was a good friend and a good person, always willing to lend a hand or an ear. Always ready with a smile or a joke. He is greatly missed.
I met Wilma thru WCC & the Asheville Pack back 2018! She welcomed me to WCC & I will fondly remember our get togethers via zoom to do Zentangle & dot painting! She was hilarious & did have a great laugh! Our last get together was just a few weeks ago for a sushi meal at Umi in Hendersonville! We shared our laughs about the pups & what was happening in our lives! Loved her fb posts & our next WCC graduation will not be the same w/o her but I think if there’s a way she will send us a sign that she is watching over us! Until we meet again Wilma! Love, Pam
Ron and Beth, I was so sorry to hear about Judi. I know you will always cherish the memories you shared with her.
Barbara was a dear colleague at George Mason Regional Library. We shared a love of reading mysteries, baking and cats. She shared her recipe for Deep Dark Chocolate Cake, simply the best cake ever and essential for birthday celebrations since the first taste. I will remember Barbara for her grace, her kindness and her gentle humor.
We got to know Mr. Levi when a close friend was in the same facility as Marsha. For approx a year I was priviledged to watch Homer as tended to his daughter Marsha. Day in and day out for years, he drove across the county to pour his heart and soul into her in a variety of ways. I watched as he came in her room. The sound of his voice caused visible joy and excitment in her mind and body. He was her reason to live with joy and expectancy. The sight of her and the squeels she let out when she heard/saw him, gave him unmistakable joy. She gave him reason to live! Neither cared what the other could give them, they just wanted to be together - 2 people who had an authentic intimate connection - true love and devotion. Watching them over time was so inspirational. I stepped in to hang out with Marsha a few times when he had appointments etc. I got very little reaction from Marsha. I understood but it was intriguing. Mr. Levi was a rare for-real godly man who had his priorities 100% in order. So thankful to have known him and to have witnessed his devotion to his daughter.
Barbara's love of mysteries and her recommendations meant a lot to me when we would meet with other friends on a monthly basis for coffee and booktalking. She was amazing with all she could remember about characters and plots. Her dry wit was such fun!
I am sending my thoughts and prayers to all of Ruth's family and friends as you adjust to a world without her loving graceful presence walking this Earth. She was a wonderful woman who was devoted to family, friends and all of those whom she met with a smile! Her cooking was always a joy to share especially because it meant you got time to share stories, laughter, comfort and love with her. She was always ready with a smile when you met her and a kind word. She was so proud of her family and friends. I remember many shared moments around the table eating, talking or playing cards. She listened with an open heart and gave advice when asked with truth and kindness. Ruth's heart and soul were always on display for those who were near her. Her memories will live in my heart and soul as long as I walk this Earth and beyond! My world was forever changed because I knew her and had the grace of her loving presence in my life! Honestly, I always thought of her as an Earth Angel. i like to think of her looking down on us now watching over us continuing her legacy of loving, nurturing, and guiding us only now she has no pain because she has just transitioned from Earth to Heaven. May you find comfort in your memories of her especially the sound of her laughter and the sparkle in her eyes! I am grateful for the Elizabeth house who helped her transition and all they have helped over the years! May we all find our own way to honor her by living lives that would make her proud! She will be greatly missed. Love, hugs, and blessings to her family as they walk a path through this challenging time.
She was a part of my life from the day I was born. Her and Arthur were my 2nd parents. From the camping trips, the beach trips, the ball games, church, and family dinners, they were there for me and loved me as their own. My life is filled with memories of her baking me pineapple upside down cakes, reading to me, teaching me how to garden and cann vegetables and being there for me no matter what she had going on. My deepest sympathy and condolences to Ms. Hazel, Jim, Alicia and family. I love you mommy and will never forget your love and kindness.
There can't be enough said about Wilma. She was a wonderful person. She did so many wonderful things in her lifetime. She made all her friends better for knowing her. I will miss her And her memory will stay in my heart
I've only known Wilma for about 10 years, but it seems like I've known her my whole life. We bonded through the Warrior Canine Connection and she was a fellow North Carolinian. We began having gatherings in North Carolina and we had so much fun. Wilma was loved by so many and we all had so many fun times. However, the WCC was not her only volunteer work - she was involved with many other organizations and made a difference in so many lives. I miss you, my dear friend. I so much enjoyed our conversations and visits. Love ya'!
It’s taken me all week to write this. I cannot believe Wilma is gone. I met her through WCC about 10 years ago- but feel like I’ve known her all my life! We connected through the WCC mission but had so many other things in common- like our love of a good Jersey Diner!! I could always count on her to read a situation and know exactly what was needed and how she could help- even if that help was a spot on sarcastic remark for the moment!!! Oh the fun we had- she had such a smart wicked sense of humor!!! I told her once I wanted to grow up and be just like her- and that is still true!! God’s speed Wilma- you were a good and faithful servant!!
I send my sincere sympathy and prayers to all the family. Helen was such a large part of our Calvary family. I only have fond memories.
Jim, So sorry to hear about your mom. I have so many wonderful memories of picnics, knowing her Mills River family, etc.
Dawn, Colby and all the family, Helen was a wonderful and very dear person. Keeping all of you in my thoughts and prayers. May Peace be with you all in the days ahead.
Our prayers and sympathy to this dear family. Helen was a wonderful, faithful Christian. We loved her dearly.
I was a friend of gene since 1995, I started at ford and worked on his line and we became good friends throughout those years. The last time I spoke with gene was sometime at the end of March 2022. When I noticed his phone was going to voicemail I knew something was not good. My condolences to the family. I'll never forget Gene, and I told him I'd be up there right behind him so keep the gate open for me. Gene was a great guy and great setup guy. I'll miss my friend, god speed my friend.
Wilma and I were Facebook friends but we had so much in common we decided to get together with a few other Facebook friends for coffee, stories, and laughter. It was a great afternoon and we talked about our love of animals and rescue work. We continued as Facebook friends and shared silly cartoons as well as tales of great heart and caring. I will miss her and her wonderful sense of humor so much.
To say losing Wilma has impacted MANY, MANY people is a huge understatement. Wilma was larger than life and loved by everyone who knew her. She was my warrior, my touchstone, my friend. God how I’ll miss her. Thank you, Wilma for the love, the laughs, the talks, the politics, and for being such an amazing woman. There are very few in this world like Wilma and I’m so very blessed and grateful that I could call her my dear friend. Rest well, Wilma….until we meet again.
I met Wilma through WCC. I saw her every September when the EPW's gathered for graduation. She had a way of making every person she met feel like we were special and important. She cared about everyone she met. She volunteer and raised awareness for many causes. Never asking for anything in return. I will think of you each morning when I drink my Christmas Coffee from Baltimore Coffee and Tea Company. You introduced me to new spices and coffee's. I will miss you and 'Rabbit Rabbit'.
To say losing Wilma has impacted so many people who loved her would be a huge understatement. Wilma was larger than life and I for one will miss her light. She was my warrior, my touchstone and a fierce, funny, and strong confidant. God how I’ll miss her. Thank you, Wilma for the love, the laughs, the pep talks, the politics, and most of all your friendship. There aren’t many in this world like you and I’m so very grateful I was blessed to know and love you. Rest well, my dear friend….until we meet again.
RIP sweet Wilma.
I met Wilma in person only once. She was the same feisty, funny person as she was online. The day before she left us, she made a contribution to my birthday fundraiser to help feed people caught up in the war in Ukraine. And that’s who Wilma was: feisty, funny and caring. Miss your daily coffee memes, Wilma.
I met Wilma at a graduation gathering for Service Dogs. She just knew how to make you feel comfortable from the first moment you spoke with her. Wilma was a of a kind Jersey girl and loved by all. Miss you Wilma.
As another member of the "Facebook people who knew Wilma because of our shared love of service dogs group" I can only remark on what a huge crater has been left in our lives with Wilma's passing. Wit and wisdom, coffee and commentary, simpatico and sass - what a blessing to have had our paths cross, even if only virtually. For all who knew this remarkable human, her memory will always be a blessing. The second cup every morning will continue to begin with a thought of all I learned from this most special person. You are loved, my friend.
Oh, I miss her. Something special...that was Wilma. Although my relationship with her was mostly virtual, having met in person only once, we made the best of our shared interests, and she always left me smiling. So kind, so smart, so sassy and sarcastic...just a lovely, magnetic lady with a wonderful passion for things in life that brought her joy. Wilma will be greatly missed by many.
I met Wilma through WCC Facebook page. Although I never met her in person Wilma had a great sense of humor and a very nice person to chat with . She was always supportive. Wilma will be missed. May Wilma be forever remembered.
Wilma, you will be missed. You were an angel on earth. You may have had a snarky sense of humor, but you had a heart of gold. You put your heart into your beliefs and into your friendships. I know you are in Heaven already working on a cause close to your heart. Our loss is Heaven's gain!
Wilma and I were Facebook friends. Though we never met in person, we bonded over WCC dogs and books. When I was diagnosed with cancer and facing surgery, she messaged me with some wonderful advice. She had been in a similar place and made me feel less scared about what was about to happen. I looked forward to her book recommendations and always smiled at her many coffee memes. I will miss her words of wisdom!
There are people you meet and it feels like you have known them forever. While I never met Wilma in person she was one of those people. As others have said Wilma was the wise, wonderful old friend that was a comforter, supporter, humorist, coffee loving, Yellowstone watching friend. You are missed by all that knew you and all of ours lives are better for the pieces you gave us and the Wilma fabric which ties us together. God bless until we meet again! ❤️
Wilma was the friend I never knew I needed until she came into my life. She was an understanding shoulder to cry on but was willing to give you a kick in the butt when she knew you needed it. She got me through one of the worst times in my life and never asked for anything in return. I will miss her every day but have such gratitude for her love and support. RIP my dear friend. Gone much too soon.
I met Wilma in a Facebook group that trains service dogs for our veterans, over the next 10 years we met many times with our mutual group and also got together for lunch whenever she was in town. I admired her for so many things, her honesty, intelligence, her friendship, she made everyone feel special and I knew the minute I met her she was something really special. I hope she knows how much I loved her.
There are so many of us in deep mourning for the loss of a good friend with a mischievous but kind sense of humor who always had a kind, wise word for everyone. I so admired her deep convictions, her high principles, her value for her fellow humans. She was deeply committed to healing those around her in so many ways in a thousand times a thousand ways. Her snarky sense of humor could lighten the mood in a difficult situation. Her appreciation of a great cup of coffee was legendary as was her savoring of a well made G & T. She listened with tolerance, counseled with great wisdom and didn't put up with any nonsense. I will miss her to the end of my days. As I write this I am tearing up again. I am so heartbroken to not be able to be there to pay the respect she so richly deserves. I will look for you my dear, dear friend at the bridge. Love, Gayle
Wilma and I became friends over service dogs in training puppies and her generosity shined through as we supported several causes including providing holiday gifts and cheer for military families for the past five years. I still cannot believe she is gone as we were looking forward to our next visit. She was one to live her life to make a difference between the dashes..from the day she was born to the day she passed away. I know you would tell me to stop crying..but I'm sad you won't be here for wontons. We love and miss you, Wilma!
WIlma had a very gentle soul that always made me feel completely loved and accepted no matter our differences. We chatted about anything and everything and I always felt supported and heard. I will miss her sweet nature, her 'groaners' and I can no longer see any reference to coffee without thinking of Wilma. I miss you, dear soul mate.
I don’t know where to start…… yes I do……coffee and WCC……I “met” Wilma on Facebook, and when I found out that she lived a few miles away, we made a date to meet….over coffee…..and that was that. When the pandemic hit, and we were in lockdown, I would drive over to her condo….I brought my lawn chair, and coffee for both of us, and we would sit outside properly distanced and chat. As so many have already said, she was so caring, always concerned about the other person, all the while dealing with her own serious health issues. So many times our conversations reached “enthusiastic” levels (I was agitated) but Wilma, being the wise, level headed woman that she was, always brought things back to center. We had a coffee date this week…… I will miss her so very much.
Wilma was a humble woman in the sense about her accomplishments and wasn't a bragger. She shared her experience of nursing working in poison centers, nursing and during the AIDS epidemic, providing her expertise and her loving and caring heart to those affected. A woman with special gifts and obviously the gift of sharing her knowledge and caring for humanity. Wilma also had a great sense of humour and loved her coffee! Wilma will be truly missed. May she rest in eternal peace.
To sum up Wilma's life with her death and her birth leaves out a whole lot of wonderful in the middle. Though I only knew her the last 10 years of her life, I witnessed an infectious laugh, a beautiful smile, an uncanny ability to make everyone feel like they were the most important person in the world. Wilma was a force to be reckoned with. I can only imagine how much she shook up the world in her heyday. If she saw a cause to further, she did it. If she saw an injustice to stand up to, she was first in line. A bigger heart I will never know and a friendship I will never be able to replace. Wilma Pomerantz will not be forgotten.
Wilma was that women who always knew. She knew when you were sad and would crack a snarky joke, if you were on the edge, she would offer to give you a little push to get you going. I could talk to her about anything at anytime. She has left such a void in my life and a hole in my heart
She had friends far and wide and I'm thankful to have been one of them. She was always so fun to be around at WCC events. She always tried to help where she could. Wilma will be missed by many.
May her memory be a blessing I will miss you Wilma you were the best
I am sorry for your loss. I worked with Barbara at the George Mason branch of FCPL and remember her book discussion groups and her love of reading. She had a real knack for creating book displays and we would share fun conversations about her dog, Darwin. May she Rest In Peace.
Tim and Diane, so sorry for your loss. I have nothing but fond and happy memories of your Mom and Dad. Jeanne Belle had the best "Garden" parties ever. Keeping both of you in my thoughts and prayers.
So sorry to hear about your sweet mom. She was always so good to me . Will be thinking of all the family. Prayers
Jeanne Belle was such a special lady. Loved her dearly. Her beautiful smile will be missed. What a joyful time she is having in heaven.....getting sweeter all the time.
Diane and Tim and family so sorry for the loss of your Mom. Jeannie Belle was a sweet lady and a delight to know. It's been awhile since we saw her but remember her fondly from down at Alvin and Pats. Heaven gets sweeter everyday. Alton and Linda Gilbert
Tim and Diane your mom (and dad) were the first people to accept and love us as an adult couple. We will never forget all the fun times and adventures at their house. We pray for your peace and comfort at this sad time. I know there's a big celebration going on in heaven now. Love to you both!
Malisia, I am heartbroken to hear of Chris's passing. You may not remember me, but I used to work at the lab in Redlands. You and Chris would always bring me brownies and spend a little time talking about your plans for the house. I am still in amazement at how Chris would tell me jokes and encourage me to finish college while he was going through so much. I wish I was able to tell him that I did finish, and became an Oncology RN. I know we have not spoken in years, but I think about you guys often and wanted to let you know what an impact you had on my life. May Chris Rest In Peace and you be surrounded by love.
Our deepest condolences. You are all in our thoughts and prayers
I had talked with Gene a few months ago when he told me they had found cancer in his lung.. I've known Gene since 1969 we dated for a short time in High school went to the Senior Prom he had a good heart I seen him several times over the years traveling to Hendersonville to visit his parents he always was joking around and teasing that was just Gene Oh he could get in trouble and get in a fight faster then anyone I ever knew he use to walk all over the place in Ypsilanti a tall handsome fellow tough on the outside and soft on the inside I will miss our conversations God be with your family to comfort them....
Thinking of you
It was my pleasure to serve this family for many years as their local Nationwide Insurance agent. Denise was such a positive person. She was quick to share her Christian beliefs. May God wrap his healing arms around Mike. Rest in peace my friend until we meet again.

Prayers for my friend Missy and her family! Sorry for your loss. We love y’all.
Rest in peace my friend, I have many great memories of our fishing and hunting adventures. The way you cared for your parents all those years after retiring from FORD MOTOR COMPANY and the way you took care of the older people in your neighborhood proved to me you were a changed man. You loved your daughters greatly throughout all the trials you endured as you worried about what would happen to them when you were gone. You were gifted athletically as evidenced in your running ability and the way you could catch a football. BUT in all the years I coached and watched football you were the only one who punted the ball BACKWARDS! Love ya and will miss our phone conversations and the way you could make me laugh. Mike Carmony
I just learned of Tasha passing. I am shocked and so saddened to hear this beautiful soul is gone so soon. You are missed Tasha. I met you through David and instantly felt like I had known you all my life. Always warm and welcoming. Funny and full of laughs. I looked forward to seeing you at Cracker Barrel and loved how you would show up for our events and spend time with us. We love you and send our love to your family.
Mike, I am so sorry to learn about Denise's passing. I met your lovely bride many years ago when I was working at Highland Tool. I so admired her because of her love for life and love of our furry friends. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
I really loved Phyllis..I was privileged to have met her years ago when I awoke from a cancer surgery and found she was sitting by my bedside..Like an Angel , through the years she continued to fly in and out of my life. I know her memory will always be in the hearts of all the people she touched along the way throughout the years ..She made a positive impact and worked effortlessly for the charities she loved.I will always remember Phyllis. Please accept my deepest condolences for your loss. May her memory be for a blessing… Jenifer
Owen was a good friend and a good man. We shared many experiences in education, and shared a Christian view of the world. Though we have not had a lot of contact since we retired, I will carry fond memories.
Miss Phyllis was a real treasure. She came to our Clinic and everyone love her. Dr. Mick and our Nurse Practitioner always looked forward to her jokes. She and I shared a love of Jesus and Fruitland. She was such a treasure. We laughed together and prayed together. I will always treasure her joy.
Ms. Linda will be missed. We always enjoyed visiting with her while servicing her Gas/AC units.
Prayers goes out to the family especially billy and Natasha
You’re one with the angels grandma. I’ll always remember our talks and cherish the support you gave me. You were an incredible woman of great strength and resilience. You will always be in my heart. ❤️
To her family: About 4 or 5 years ago, as a Geriatric Care Manager I was asked by a friend to assist your mother when she was at The Laurels in rehab to help her get back home. i felt, with support services, she would be okay, but the facility seemed to think she needed to go to Independent Living. Well, that was absolutely not on her agenda!! We were able to get her home with assistance from Council on Aging, visits from caseworker, Marina, Meals on Wheels and some nutrition supplies. Kindred Home Care was there for physical therapy, assist with her walking skills and were willing at my request to increase the aide time for personal care so she didn't have to shower alone. They continued therapy for an extend period of time. I made several more visits.... I so enjoyed her spunk and laughter.. she was home and happy... and my job was done. My condolences to all of you. Lisa. K.
Uncle Plato like everyone else is saying called my Dad (Leo) every single day. I know him and my Dad was very close all through his life. My Dad will greatly miss those daily calls. Plato and Ethel have always been so kind to us. Ethel our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. We know Plato will be surely missed by you and so many people.
So very sorry to just be seeing this. RIP Ruth
Baruch Dayan Ha Emet, May Linda's Name be said as a Blessed Memory. I do remember Linda from Miami Beach High School. Comfort to you, her family.
Rest peacefully partner. No more banging your fingers as you create. My the beauty of your creations remain to show the true beauty that was within.
Out of all the sisters, Aunt Sheryl was the most similar to my mum(Janell), anytime those two got together and were always laughing and always looking at each other when they laughed in unison. Aunt Sheryl was/is an absolute joy in life and beyond. She will be sorely missed here on earth but my heart is filled with contentment that she is with our Lord and beloved husband Uncle Dave. She is loved by so many my only regret is we all live so far apart. I love you Aunt Sheryl and I will see you later.
Larry always impressed me as a man who truly lived his faith. I am so sorry for your loss.
Ronnie was a good friend and a great classmate of mine. He always had a great sense of humor and made high school a much better to put up with the teachers! We'll be praying for the family that the Lord will give you peace & comfort. We'll see him again in Heaven. . . Jeff & Marion Parks. . . Helena, Montana

Janet, I am so sorry for your loss. Condolences to your family. Larry was such a pleasure to talk to. We had many good conversations as neighbors. The blessing is that Larry is free of pain, and discomfort. He now will watch over you from above.
I was so sorry to hear of Matt’s passing. He was a funny, wonderful and lovable gentleman. I know my mom and dad were there to greet him.
I was sad to see the Mr B had passed. He truly was a great teacher and had a lot of patience with the HHS class of 1983. His smile was one of a kind. My condolences to the family.
Ethel, Lisa and Pam, I am so sorry for your loss. Hugs and prayers.
Owen was a treasure to many. He was a great teacher who cared about his students and a supportive colleague. But also he always had a smile and infused humor to all of us who could benefit from that.
Great Uncle Plato was a gentle soft spoken man who deeply loved and cared for his entire family. He has called my Dad everyday for a very long time to check on him and make sure he was ok. Dad looked forward to that call each day. He will miss that call and conversation from his Uncle that he loved so dearly. Ask Dad (Don Young) or Aunt Ethel about the story of Plato coming to know Jesus as his personal Savior so many years ago. It will touch your heart for sure. We loved Plato dearly and Aunt Ethel we are here for you as you embark on your life without this sweet husband of yours. We love you all!
Barry, Susan, Chelsea, Riley and family, I'm sorry to learn of Phyllis' passing and I'm hoping that you all are finding peace, gratitude for her life, and comfort in your memories together. It's a sad time and please be gentle with yourselves and others.
Sending my thoughts, prayers and deepest sympathy to Phyllis' family following her promotion to Heaven. Phyllis and I worked together for a number of years teaching Sunday School in the Children's Division at First Baptist Church. I am sorry for your loss, but we take comfort in knowing that she is healed now and is rejoicing in Heaven in the presence of the Lord. Both of our Mothers we're blessed with long lives, but that loss is still there and we miss their earthly presence. May God's grace sustain you all as you walk thru this journey of grief.
Ethel, so sorry your "honey" has passed. I know you are sad and will be lonely. My prayers are for peace for you and your family.
Brenda was one of the best cooks around. It was so nice when she would come to my mom's house for holidays and bring that good food with her! Hoping precious memories of Brenda will help her loved ones through the times of sorry and heart ache.
So sorry Justine! Grandmas are special! Bless your family!
Dot and I grew up together and had many sleep-overs. I loved her like a sister. She will be missed

Rachel Smathers Smith and David Smathers

My Uncle Plato called his brother Paul(my dad) everyday to say hello and check on all of us. Seven years ago after dad passed Plato has called my mom to check on her and our family. We are going to miss that special Hello and the special man who could fix any small engine and loved his family unconditionally. Thank you Uncle Plato, I love you.
I remember recently when we all sent her birthday cards. Bless her now and forever
So sorry for the loss of Plato/ He will be missed.

Sheryl was such a blessing! It is so sad to see her empty office chair at First Congregational Church, even knowing she is now free of pain. She is missed so much! Peace be with her family!
Randy said to tell you that Crawdaddy is praying for you. We both are. So sorry to hear this. May God bring His comfort to you and your family. Randy and Marsha Teague
The legacy of a quiet man.... Uncle Plato thought carefully before he spoke or acted and as a small child I thought that was just his "nature". My understanding of this remarkable man was limited. As an adult I realize how much this Godly man taught me in his quiet moments. He listened twice as much as he spoke...he never criticized or judged and thought carefully before he said anything at all. I never witnessed anger ..only patience and kindness in this gentle wonderful man that I was blessed to know and love.Thank you uncle Ping Pong for showing me how to be Christlike. Love Linda Lou
Condolences to all of Linda’s family. She was a good friend, mentor, and a great asset to the nursing profession.
Condolences to all of Linda’s family. She was a good friend and mentor to her coworkers and to the nursing profession.
Linda was a wonderful, caring mentor during our shared time at Barry University. Condolences to her children and grandchildren.
Grew up with Owen and Cheryl as neighbors. Many wonderful memories with Owen as he and my father would sled with us etc. I had the pleasure of having him for 8th grade Math and he was a wonderful teacher. He had the best sense of humor and was just a joy to be around. My deepest condolences to the family. Owen was a gem!
Linda was an excllent nurse, professor, administrator and friend. She will always be dear to my heart. R.I.P.
Owen was one of the kindest people I have had the honor to know. A true and caring teacher.
Cheryl, I was so sorry to hear of Owen's passing. It has been 38 years since I worked across the hall from you at Bruce Drysdale School. My husband, Jon, and I remember being in a Hallmark card shop at the mall in Asheville. Across the aisles, we could hear laughter. There you were! You and Owen had come in, not to purchase cards, but to read the cards and get a few laughs. Blessings from Neenah, Wisconsin.
I didn't connect with many math teachers while in school, but this guy right here was the first teacher to show/teach me that math was a cool subject. The other two teachers are Mrs. Norman and Mrs. Betsy Copolillo. He was my 8th grade algebra teacher, and in all honesty it was the first time I actually passed a math class with an "A". After that connection, I was forever appreciative of the man, the myth, the legend that is Mr. Brendell. After moving back home to take a AP spot at my Alma Mater, I gave Mr. Brendell a phone call. I wanted to thank him for everything he did for me as a kid who struggled in math, but also helping me navigate those awkward pre-teen years at Hendersonville Junior High. We talked and laughed for about an hour on the phone on that day...........I am so fortunate to have had the chance to say thanks. Anyone who was raised in Hendersonville during the 1980s and 1990s had some pretty amazing teachers. I didn't realize how lucky we all were until joining the ranks myself. The reason I am in year 21 now is because of all the great educators I had in my life. We love you and will miss your dearly Mr. Brendell. ❤❤
Mr. B was one of my absolute favorite teachers. Also one of my favorite people. Through the years when I would be fortunate enough to run into him and Cheryl in town, he was always still the smiling, laughing and joyful man he had been when I was in his class at Hendersonville Junior High. Cheryl and Stephanie, I am so sorry for your loss. I am praying for God's peace and comfort for you.
Owen was one of the nicest, most genuine people I've ever met. He always had a smile on his face no matter the situation. I will miss our conversations on Tar Heel Basketball (there was no bigger fan)!
Just a note to say you are a one of a kind person that made a mark on my life, God Bless You
Eileen Brehm
Condelences to the family. Mr. Brendell great educator and i received many good teaching from him. Rest in paradise.
This gentleman was one of all time favorite teachers. I am sorry for your family's loss. I was a rowdy lad in school but only for 1/2 of 1 day in Mr. Brendell's class. I admired and respected him greatly !
The world has lost one of the greatest men I have ever known. I have so many memories of "Mr. B." My Jr. High years weren't the greatest in my school career but he always made it as bearable as it could be. Owen you will be missed but never forgotten my friend. To Stephanie and the rest of the family my thoughts are with you and know I love you all
Wanda, I am very sorry for the loss of your Dad. Please know you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers during this most difficult time. Love, Becky
Dearest Cheryl and Family, please know you are in my thoughts and prayers. You two were always SPECIAL FRIENDS even though we had lost contact. Both of you were always so very good to me when we worked together at Enka, and Owen taught my son math at Hendersonville Middle School. So much appreciated.
Our condolences to you and your children, Janet. Also, to Linda & Mike. I am Anne Johnson Vogue, granddaughter to Arthur Johnson, daughter to Tyrus Johnson. They were uncle & cousin to your mother in-law, Susie. God bless you all!
Eighth grade Math teacher (1965 -66) remains my favorite Math teacher throughout junior high and college. I always remember him as teacher who cared about students.
Cheryl: We enjoyed walking and talking with you and Owen. He always had a such positive attitude and saw the positive and good in all. Phone conservations with him were always a delight. He was One in a million.
Stephanie, I am so sorry. Your dad was such a fun person. I enjoyed our time at Joe’s. Prayers for you and your mom.
I have some great memories of working with Dave on the Stamford PD. He helped his fellow officers whenever possible. He treated everyone fairly and with respect. RIP Dave.
"Mr. B." as we lovingly called him was such a joy. Always a smile and answers for my grandsons about the Bible when we were walking at the mall. He loved music, and I loved being able to play the piano at the church for him, with a song he requested. Heaven continues to get sweeter; and we shall miss his laughter and kind voice. Blessings to you Mr. "B"! You are well and home, and we will see you again!!
Owen and Cheryl are wonderful folks. Owen has been and I'm still sure is smiling and laughing and enjoying seeing the Father and Jesus the Son face to face. We love you Cheryl and Stephanie as sisters in Christ.
Owen was a wonderful friend and walking companion at the Blue Ridge Mall. We had a lot of fun. Solving the World problems.
Our hearts are saddened to hear of Owen’s passing. Never saw him without a smile or a laugh to share. It was a pleasure to know him and he will be remembered with fond memories.
What a wonderful neighbor and friend I had in Owen. So many memories to cherish and all the laughs we had along the way. My deepest sympathies Cheryl and Stephanie. Owen was a special man!
I'm so sorry for your loss. My prayers are with you and your family.
Sad to say I just discovered this fact. Mr. & Mrs. Freitas welcomed me and were wonderful to me. Mr. Freitas' knowledge, energy and zeal were evident in everything he did. Sunday meals with his family were always interesting and fun. It will always bring a smile to me when I think of him, his wife, Anne and the children who most likely grew up to be phenomenal individuals.
I worked with Ed when he volunteered for many years at the ABCCM Medical Ministry in Asheville, NC. The ministry cares for poor, uninsured patients of Buncombe County, N.C. In addition to seeing patients, Ed bought batteries for home blood sugar meters to be distributed to patients. He also provided hard candy for patients to carry who might experience low blood sugar symptoms. Ed will be missed.

Kenneth was always one I looked up to. He was one of my hero’s, and one of the best friends I ever had or will ever have. I was blessed to work with him throughout much of my life. He was one of the toughest and hardest working men I have ever known, and a master of automotive collision repair. I learned many, many things from Kenneth. Not just about repairing vehicles, but about hard work and how to be a true friend to someone. He taught me so much about so many things. Bass fishing was a passion we both shared, and Kenneth was one of the very best. On many occasions over the years, when I found myself on the lake struggling to find and catch fish, Kenneth could tell me over the phone where they were and what to throw. I would be catching fish within just a few minutes after talking to him. He was a very gifted man. There is no doubt that Kenneth was one of the greatest bass fishermen ever. If he had wanted it, he could have easily been a professional bass fishermen. On the worst of days, being around Kenneth for just a few minutes made everything better. When I didn’t feel like laughing or even being in a good mood, Kenneth always changed that. The best part was, he didn’t even have to try. There was just a something about Kenneth that had a huge impact on me. He was absolutely hilarious! He had a natural sense of humor unlike anyone I have ever known. Just walking in the room with him put a smile on my face. He could make me laugh without even trying. Kenneth was a dear friend to me. I love you Ken. I sure will miss you. You will never be forgotten. Your friend, Patrick Case

You both showed such commitment and took such loving care of her, and any woman would be proud to count you both as family. I know the days ahead will be hard, since saying goodbye is always hard. My thoughts and prayers will follow you as you navigate this new season of life.
Beth, I never met your mother in person, but she and your father raised an incredibly kind and thoughtful daughter who loved her tremendously, even when it became heartbreakingly difficult; both indications of her goodness . She couldn't have had a better caregiver. You have my deepest sympathy.
My Love for the loss of an old Friend. Childhood friends and many happy times. Ronnie, even through all his problems, he was always positive and Loving to all. My Love and Prayers for Family and Friends. God's Blessing's to all.
Bill & I are so sad for the loss of John. I know he’s at peace and completely healed. I’m sorry Anne & Greg, we both loved him and are very grateful we reconnected with him and met you. Being able to reminisce over our younger days together as friends in the 1970’s was so fulfilling. We will never, ever forget him, never. He was so loved and his passing leaves a hole in the hearts for all who knew him. God Bless you and keep you and may his face shine down upon you. May he give you his peace. Amen Love Always, Deb & Bill Rose

Ed was one of the most kind hearted people I knew. He would come into the credit union and have us a whole neat list of everything he needed done and he would be so apologetic thinking it was too much. I just enjoyed talking to him, he was funny and so interesting. He will be dearly missed and I wish I had known about his passing sooner.
John was the spark that brought our Lake Toxaway community together. His smile and hugs always made you feel like family. A call to John and he would be there to help or to enjoy a glass of wine. He will be greatly missed by all. Our thoughts and prayers are with Anne and Greg. May he rest in Pease.
Chuck & Lynn ... so sad to hear of mom's passing, but glad she is with Jesus after 89 years. We know you have so many memories of your sweet mother. Her musical gifts were such a blessing, as was her ever-present smile and her sweet spirit. May the Lord give her family comfort, strength, and peace as they celebrate her home-going, and may the assurance of heaven bring much joy through the tears

Betty, I am so sorry I can’t attend Ed’s memorial service this Saturday because of prior commitments. Ed was a wonderful man, a man from the first time you met him you knew that he was kind and thoughtful. Some one you wanted to know to know better because of his life time experience. I was my honor to know Ed when he enrolled in the Master Pomologist Course to learn more about the science of tree fruit production. He was one of the “regular crew” who volunteered at the Apple Variety Block consistently ever Tuesday for over twenty years. Working in the Block: planting new varieties, training, pruning, harvesting fruit and evaluating post-harvest fruit quality. Through his work and others, local growers through the NC Cooperative Extension Center helped educate local growers about how apple and peach varieties preform in our region of WNC. Because of his dedication, he was honored by the NC Cooperative Extension Service as Volunteer of the Year! Late in his life, because of medical issues we saw Ed less and less at the Block. Even if he couldn’t join us, he would tell Betty “It’s Tuesday morning, I must get ready to go to the Block”! Yes, Ed is miss by all who knew him. But, I know we will meet again, when we pick up our pruners and continue working together again. Ed, RIP Your friend, Marvin

What a great man! I will never forget my time and wonderful talks with Tommy at the campground. Charles and I have spent many hours over the years, rocking in those chairs in the campground office, sharing life stories with Tommy. He and Charles were especially fond of their “Ford truck” ventures, their jaunts to the hardware…just men being men. Our last visit during Covid will play forever in our minds. Just four friends laughing over the aches and pains and robotic body parts that elderly life has given us. Tommy’s positive upbeat attitude will always be a reminder for us to live life to its fullest. Praying for comfort and strength for all who love him.
Tommy was such a kind and giving man. He always had a way to make you smile. We were part of the campground family for 3 years and he was always there to lend a hand. He will truly be missed
We will miss Tommy’s smile and “ Welcome” at the campground. We are glad to have known such a fine man and we thank him for his military service. To Ann, Robin, and the rest of the family, Greg and I send our love and hopes that you will be comforted remembering his love for you all.
I am so thankful for Tom, his life and testimony. I remember some amazing times with Tom from years ago. Love and prayers to all his family!
The best friend anyone could ever have
Martha - Sarah - Michael - I've been thinking a lot about your dear Dad this week - he was such a kind, elegant man who truly cared about how others thought and felt. I still miss him on Friday nights when Patricia and I join for dinner in his honor. My dog Sugar looks for him every time. His absence is hurtful to me. May the lives he touched in the most profound way give each of you peace and remember to take pride in his legacy.
I'm sorry you had to pass away in a bed. I wish you could have gotten better. I will love you forever and always Mimi.

So very sorry for your loss. Sending you love and hugs I will be praying for you and your family.
Our loving Janice will be missed and give thanks she is with the Lord.
My mother-in-law, Stella Mace, always treated me as one of her own. She loved and helped me in every way she could. I worshipped with her at Jones Gap Church and, more recently at her home. Just a few days ago, I was reciting “The Lords Prayer” with her, and, on her own, she picked right up with “The Twenty-third Psalm”. Her favorite hymn was still “Amazing Grace”, and she still loved for us to sing it with her. Then, after singing “I’ll Fly Away”, she said to me “and we’ll fly away together”. And, in a way, we did, because we were together when she went to be with Jesus, and some glad morning “we’ll all fly away” to “that home beyond the shining shores” to be with her again in Glory. She also loved the hymn “All Is Well With My Soul” and I’m sure “all is well with her soul”. With All My Love, Wayne He
She was a precious person! I always enjoyed seeing her - especially when we got tickled over something and would giggle together!

I Thank the Lord for blessing me, and the rest her family, by allowing her to be a part of our lives for so long. She was the best mother anyone could ever have. She loved, taught, guided, and helped me all of my life. She was alway a close part of my, and my family’s life. My husband, Wayne, was very close to her, as well. We are heart-broken.

So sorry to read this. I enjoyed working with her on several family searches. Knew her when she worked at Pardee and then enjoyed her at the Society. She was such a help in marking Lovie Corn Carver's grave and also working on the letter that her Confederate husband sent to her from the battlefield. She was special and will not be forgotten.

We just learned of Mark‘s passing. We knew him through his window cleaning business. We will remember him for being such a kind man with a good heart and a smile always on his face. Heartfelt sympathies to his family and loved ones. He will be greatly missed!
I spoke with Mark last fall when he called me to say he would have to reschedule my window cleaning because he was having to cut back. I missed seeing his obituary and had no idea that he had died until I tried to reach him today. He was a wonderful man and we had great conversations whenever he came to work at my house. He loved my dog and would always play with her. My deepest condolences to all.
I didn't know Henry well. I met him at a couple of neighborhood parties. And after Doris passed, I would talk to him on some of his hikes up and down our neighborhood hill. Henry could talk about anything. He listened well, and divulged his thoughts, too. He was always so inviting, for me to visit and to just talk. I'm sad now that I didn't talk to him more. He had a wealth of experience from life, and empathetic, and caring. I am sorry his passing. He was a good man.
Please accept my heartfelt condolences for your father's death. I pray that your fond memories of him bring you comfort during this trying time. You and your family will be in all my prayers.

I was in the college seminary with my good friend, Hank (I and many others called him "Hank" rather than Henry) from 1960-1963 and hooked up with him a few times since then, mostly at seminary reunions, but also one occasion when he came to my home town of Indianapolis to visit me. The last reunion four years ago was a 3 day blast and Hank and my wife and I took a couple trips around St. Louis, including Lemay, where he was mayor at one time. Very enjoyable time with him. My sincere condolences to his family. I know he loved you and Doris very much. May he rest in peace.

We enjoyed listening to her beautiful style of playing the piano, as we lifted our hearts together in song. My girls, at a young age learned what a blessing it can be on both ends of gatherings like this. The King's were blessed, we were blessed and the Lord was praised by all! We also loved running into Sis. Betty in town at some of our favorite restaurants. We always left feeling such joy to have caught up once again. Letters of appreciation were exchanged as well. Pat and family, I'm so very sorry for your loss. Please know you all are in my thoughts and prayers .
Not sure what to say exactly being it's my son and his son my grandson that has passed this is utterly heartbreaking very shocking and very sudden especially one that is taken as such a young age never got a chance to really see the world but you know as a parent it's hard to watch your child have to deal with something such as his tragedy wishing a lot of times you could take that pain or take that place and let him enjoy life and his family and take away the heartache but it doesn't work that way no one really knows the pain unless they've been through it so it's it's really easy for people to say everything's going to be okay but that would be a lie it'll get a little less hard but this kind of lost and being it's one of your own especially your children is going to be hard to overcome you can do what he wants or what you think he would want and coming from both parents y'all know what he wants so his memory will live on not only in your mind but in your heart along with things that you may do in his honor the memories will never fade your heart will never start aching the tears will never stop flowing not to mention you'll always have questions of why why you why did this have to happen why did you do this however you'll never know that answer so all we can do is just put it in the back of her mind but even though you and Candice only got a few months with Braxton just remember fact is he will forever live in your hearts he will never be forgotten he is up there somewhere with all of her passed on loved ones which welcomed him with open arms and helped him get adjusted you know Alan your Grandma Mary she probably first thing she did was had a big bowl of potatoes with butter waiting on him as soon as he arrived but son I love you and I'm here for you whenever you need me I know right now it's a hard time for you and Candice but if y'all ever need you or her need a shoulder to cry on or even a punching bag if you want to get some of your anger out I'm here for that that's what parents do but I just want you to know I love you and I'm really sorry that this happened this is really truly a tragedy you and Candice and PeeWee will be in my thoughts and my prayers but for you Braxton we never met but we will soon until then fly high my little one we will all be together one day soon love always your mother and grandmother Rachel lyda
Love you little buddy
Miss you so much.. You made me so proud...i can see you fishing on a star.. A twinkle of a eye and I will see you again. Love u
Farewell, Chris! Having worked closely together with you was a very cool, especially training you at the beginning and seeing you become that 'CGA Ninja'. I deeply enjoyed all your blunt honesty and shared personal values in all our conversations, which went way beyond the scope of just work. We only met a few times in person, but I am grateful for everything. I have a massive respect for your ability to endure and fight on. All the best to your new journey on the other side! You made this side a better place for us all. Cheers from Switzerland, Matt Buehler

You are in our hearts now and forever. So many wonderful memories with Virginia, Wayne, and the kids. Remember our 'camping' trip (that popup camper) with the kids? And Larry put a 'for sale' sign on the camper as soon we got back. The many cookouts on the patio with our families - cooking delicious foods and enjoying each other's company. And neighbors helping neighbors - anytime there was a project, i.e., pouring a driveway, cleaning up the trees after Hurricane Fran, making home repairs, etc., we all jumped right in -- the Wyatts, the Ollis', Betsy, Wilmer, Bobby, the kids - and made it fun. The big pool parties at the Ollis' was always an fun event. We miss those days and happy memories. Love to the Wyatt family, Wayne, Virginia, Kim, & Rick.
I am lost without you. I was the most fortunate person to be your sister. I love you.
So sorry for your loss. Prayers for Wayne, all the children & grandchildren. Her suffering is over, may she rest in the arms of our Lord.

Sandy, Sending my sincere sympathy to you and your 'boys'....Thinking of those fun early days we shared when Ron and Dave were at Pillsbury and the StarTribune...and later when we would see you in Minnetonka. Our last visit was in 2016, maybe, in California. NOW they are probably going over financials reports and bridge scores (!) in the Hereafter. (David 10/7/37* - 12/2019)

I would rather not say anything of our memories but I will say through all the convoluted mind alterations and all the devastation that fell before this young lady as you were very vibrant and vivacious and you most certainly imprinted a unforgettable impression of you and that will stay with us until we pass through the threshold of Elysium to see you and all of our love ones passed once again …

Don and I remember Ron as a vibrant, easy going, cagey and delightful bridge opponent. We send our heartfelt condolences to the family and especially Sandy. We miss you.
Today we said our final goodbyes to a good man. I am so thankful that God moved the Carters to Hendersonville in the 80”s. Had it not been for that move, I would have never met my lifetime best friend and her family, who I consider mine. Life has brought its ups and downs, but Joel was always the rock holding everyone together. He was like a second father to me, always trying to teach us kids something about life and how to live it well. From girls scouts to starting my own family, Joel was always there, cheering me on in life. He left a legacy of love and service we can all learn from for years to come. We can all be assured he is resting in the arms of his savior, where he always wanted to be. It’s not good-bye, but see you soon.
Sandy, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Ron. We have many fond memories of playing bridge with you two at Carriage Park. May he rest in peace. Peace to you too.
As one of the oldest knights in the council, I have known Joel since the early eighty's.There was no job that the Knights had that Joel couldn't do. He was multi-talented. The same with people. That smile will be sorely missed. Sleep in peace brother Joel!
My Deepest Sympathy to Hall's family . Hall was a friend during High school times. He was always witty and enjoyed others. Judy and Pam thinking of you both at this time.
Rembering Hall during school days, he was a great person, always witty and never lacked for words. My sympathy to his wife and family, Judy and Pam . May God comfort you .
Fond memories of Hall, or as we bandmates called him, "Mr. Bassman" during our years at Marion High School in Marion. He was very talented and his talent earned him the right to the prestigious John Phillip Sousa award....sending condolences for his family.
My darling baby sister we shared so many wonderful memories in this world and we will once again in our heavenly world. You know I miss you more than words can tell My heart is breaking but I know we will meet again. Hugs, the middle one....eva
Sending condolences. In the years I worked with him at Henderson Co. DSS, Hall was very sweet to the children he worked with. He had a great sense of humor and never took himself too seriously. Gail and family, I pray the Lord will hold you near during this difficult time.
Hall had such heart for his work with families and children. I was blessed to be a coworker with him at Henderson Co DSS and enjoyed many conversations with him about his work.
Christopher Wilkins embodied all that is right with this world and the worse of this world. He took his talents and utilized them to become a master in his chosen career: Chis took his love and created a wonderful family with his wife of 17 years; and then tragically the worse happened when he was struck by a terrible illness, Chris chose to battle it seeking the long life he deserved. While I did not know him, I knew his family and the stock that created this wonderful person, his talents, and his love. I feel I missed knowing a great brave person and share the sorrow of his family. May we take time to breath and celebrate the life of this child of God.
Too many memories to mention them all. The biggest being raised by this strong, kind hearted woman. A soul that was too pure for this earth. I’ll miss you forever gramma.
I knew Harley from the H'ville Country Club. We would always have a great conversation together, about cars, horses, Keeneland KY., maybe some of his old cases or sometimes about nothing. Visited him at his warehouse a few times, I always left with a good inspiration from him. I will miss him.
Christopher was my dear friend in high school, he was kind, clever, and genius. I had not spoken with him directly in decades but I always carried him in my heart. He was easy to love and I am completely saddened for his family and close friends. It is better that the world should have such a light, it gives me hope in humanity.
I was just telling someone the other day about when you had came to my house and helped me with milah, after Judah got sent home to baby land. I have a picture of us at the truck stop in the bathroom mirror we weren’t on the best terms I’m so sorry honey. I wish I could tell you that in person. Play with Greyson for me ❤️
Oh how I remember the Carter family growing up a couple blocks away and Joel. Indeed, him, Rick F and Chuck G took me out as a 9th grader while they were in 12th grade. I'm so happy his life was full and love and family. I'm praying for all, especially Denise and George, whom I know better than the rest of the siblings. I now reside in the Thumb recalling the summers in Caseville!
I’m so grateful to have shared 18 wonderful years with you. I’m sorry to tell you this but Squeezy has been sleeping on your bed. I think she misses you. I know I do. I hope you, George, Bruce, Wendy and Teal all are all back together again. Tuckadur baby. I will love you forever Christopher.

Your A Good Person And You Deserve To Be Happy! You Will Be Missed!! Tell Judah I Said Hello
My Husband and I first got to know Toni through our Pet Grooming Business. We groomed several of her family pets and found her lovely to work with. Then we learned she also drove for Meals on Wheels and delivered meals to my Grandmother who lived with us. She was so kind and loving to my Grandma, a real angel here on earth! Toni was one of our favorite people--She will be missed!

I have only the fondest memories of growing up just blocks away from my cousins' home and the hours spent hanging out there. When I view those memories, what comes up front and center, is Joel's mischievous smile and goofing around. I remember him as funny, teasing and always kind. Moving away, losing touch and not knowing Joel as the wonderful man he came to be is my loss. Condolences and prayers for peace to all the family.
Harley helped me with a lot of my legal affairs through the years but more than that, he was a wonderful friend and someone I could always depend on being there when I needed him. He will be missed by so many people. My love and prayers for Margaret, Chris and Marley.
Dr. Parker was one of the very best professors I ever had. I still frequently think of things he said and quote his lapidary sayings to others. I was a student of his at Northern Baptist Theological Seminary in the mid-eighties. He was personally very kind and encouraging to me. I wanted to take him out for lunch and pick his brain about the possibility of pursuing Ph.D. studies. He allowed my five-year-old daughter pick the restaurant. (It was McDonald's, of course!) He paid for the meal, and gave me good counsel.
Sincere sympathy to the family on the death of their Mother & Grandmother . We have so many fond memories of Toni as a special friend for so many years . John & Betty Melchior

As the daughter of the late Canon A. Rees Hay, Bishop Folwell was a great part of my childhood and beyond. He and Chris were so highly regarded by my family. So sad to hear of his passing, but no doubt he will be welcomed in heaven by my parents and all those who went before him and loved him so dearly.

Bill gave me support 22 years ago when my mother Pass a way
I served on the Commission on Ministry when Bill was bishop. During that time, I came “out of the closet” and had very messy divorce. Once the bishop caught wind of it, he called me in to see him. I assumed excommunication was the mildest I could expect. Instead he gave me a big hug and said how often he had heard similar stores of married men coming out as gay. Several years later, after Bill’s retirement, my partner (now husband) John and I became part of an AIDS ministry for the diocese of Central Florida. Each summer we helped sponsor a retreat at Kanuga for those dealing the HIV. At one retreat Bill came to carry out a blessing for those suffering from HIV and those involved in ministries such as ours. When he came to John and me at the altar rail, instead of blessing our ministry, he blessed our union as a couple. I still get teared up thinking about it. He was a kind and gentle man. He will be deeply missed.
Chris I am so sorry to hear about the loss of you father. He was such an amazing Lawyer. Prayers for you and your family during this time of difficulty.

So Saddened to hear!! Karen Carlisle messaged me. Margaret hired me along with Ella, at the Opening of the Quarter House, October 1981. Harley and the Family the Kindest people on the Planet. When I went to BRCC, 1986, paper Law was part of my course, and Harley Allowed me a Memorable Hour + to Interview Him. I Learned a lot, and Carried His Wisdom with me. I'm Allison Shaw, now Ally Summey. They, He, the Stepps made Hendersonville a Wonderful place to live!! LOVE XO!
Harley Stepp was very kind to my sister when he represented her in a divorce. We credit him with saving her life.
Harley was a truly great neighbor and colleague for 40 years.
When I came to this judicial district, Harley was THE premiere trial attorney, a distinction he wore while being unfailingly ethical, cheerful, easy to negotiate with, while unfailingly being an advocate for his clients' best interests. When i entered private practice Harley afforded me good advice and assisted me dealing with a few conundrums. Chris is a worthy successor to his father's legacy.
So sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. I'll miss his dry sense of humor most of all.
Chris, So sorry to hear about your father. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time.

Prayers to all.

Lynn and Kim, Emmaleen and my Mother (Margaret Hyder Bagwell) were close friend for over 40 years. Emmaleen lived on the street behind us when she was first married. I remember borrowing a dress from her for my senior prom. She was only 3 yrs. older than me. Both she and my mother loved hummingbirds. The birds would show up at Emmaleen's first and she would call Mother and tell her to put the feeder out. I don't think they ever missed each other's birthday. Her girls were her pride and joy. I know you will miss her.
I am so sorry for your loss. May God comfort you.

Saundra Saundra was my best friend. She was always there for me to listen and to cheer me up. I have met her on 1995 where she introduced me to the hiking club. We shared a lot of wonderful times hiking the trails, including the 40 over 6000 hikes in NC. Her wonderful attitude towards life sheered everyone up all the time. Her trail name was “SUNNY HIGH” true to her personality. So, Sunny High, I will miss you terribly and always remember you. I hope you are resting In peace now and let your spirit soar high like an eagle. With love❤️
Your niece Pat Pressley Fountain
I always looked forward to any time I would get to see Preacher Buddy and Miss Anne - whether at church or elsewhere. Lynn and Kim. So sorry about your Mom. Just saw it in paper. Wish I had known she was sick. I know you are going to miss her very much.
Mrs. Anne was so beloved to our entire family! She spoke at several Ladies' Day conferences for our church ladies and was an inspiration to our singing family. Preacher Buddy was Daddy's pastor when he was just a teenager, and inspired Daddy in his ministry and pastorate. Mrs. Anne was instrumental in that ministry also! She is dearly loved and will certainly be missed by our family! We love you all so very much!
Carol was such a joy and inspiration to have in the Brightwater community. More than a regular at the studio, she was part of our family. She will be missed.

My Uncle Jerry, my Godfather, my neighbor. Our family lived on the same block. My Uncle Jerry, Aunt Mary, cousins Diane, Richard, Gale and Ronnie. I often think about the family gatherings and My Uncle Jerry at the bbq. I remember the beautiful orchids that he grew in his green house that he built, after all, he was a contractor! I remember My Uncle Jerry behind the bar at our wedding holding up my train that I had dragged behind the bar to pose for a picture. I remember My Uncle Jerry coming to the department store where I worked on Christmas Eve telling my boss the family was waiting on me for dinner. I remember My Uncle Jerry, and cousins, helping us move to our new house and giving Bill and I a picnic table for our patio. My husband, Bill, would have a lot of stories to tell on the many trips that he made to the groves with my dad and My Uncle Jerry; many he can't tell! Don't forget the warehouse in Medley and Major, the German Shepherd, My Uncle Jerry loved. I remember our families traveling together to NY every summer. My Uncle Jerry would be ready and packed with 4 kids way ahead of us. Now you know the rest of the story. To My Uncle Jerry: Light the way for us. I love you, your niece, Lorraine
Chuck, I am so sorry for your loss. You and Joan are in my prayers. Colin Thomas

Kevin was a great artist and loyal member of our Club. I got to volunteer with him at the Museum, and loved listening to his interactions with all. Each day is a gift, let's all carry his sweet ways (and honest speech) to the world as we go.
We are truly saddened by Carol's passing. Our sincere condolences go out to her family.
I had the honor and privilege of working with Mr. and Mrs. Konsler at Asheville ENT. Lou was the one of the kindest and most gentle patients I could ask for. I am so blessed to have known this family. RIP Lou. Thank you for being an incredible human.
Very sorry to hear of Robert’s passing. I shared many a laugh and thought provoking, ideological discussions with he and Barbra. The Saluda community has gone through many a change since my departure and the loss of Robert will be among the bigger changes on Main Street. My sincere condolences to the family.

My thoughts are with you during this difficult time
Kevin I will miss our daily phone calls but you will always be in my thoughts. Riley will miss seeing you also she would always take off to you whenever she saw you coming towards us.
Dear Brother There won’t be a single day go by I don’t think of you. I will miss our long conversations about nothing really. I loved how you never met a stranger and could talk to anybody. Say hi to Bobby and Mom for me and save me a spot buddy! I love you Kevin.
Our hearts go out to all of Kevin's family. It is still difficult for us to believe Kevin is actually gone. We dispatched him for most of his trucking career. We still find ourselves expecting his daily calls. This is a heartbreaker for us...he was like family. The only thing that makes it bearable is that he is with his beloved dog Bobby.
Ill miss you brother We had a lot of fun over the years God Bless
I first met Larry and Alma at Girl Scout camp in SC. Her niece worked for GS. Alma was teaching a beading class. We became fast friends. That was probably 25 years ago. Through the years, she taught both beading and basket classes for me at Greenville Health System's Recreation Committee. Several of us would have dinner at a fine restaurant before class. (Wendy's) I loved the stories she and Larry shared about the classes they took and the places they went. I especially love the story about her Ingles jewelry collection I have the recipe she sent me for kraut and my Christmas earrings she sent me. I will miss you dear friend.
Thank you for the friendship we shared for so many years.
I'm sorry I could not be there in person, but I am there in spirit. I will miss our phone conversations. Rest in Peace Beverly.
Being neighbors growing up. Irma was always a special lady. I admired her then and always will. Loved her and the family.
Brother, it’s so hard for me to say by to u, so I will say see you later, I Love You!!!!
Our Aunt Saundra was very special to all of the Rydin family. She was a wonderful wife to our Uncle Ted and we shared so many fun holidays and birthdays together. I especially remember all the trips to Flat Rock with my mom in her later years and with my daughter Meghan where we visited the Carl Sandburg home where Saundra used to be a docent. We were so glad when she reconnected with her high school friend Jim after my Uncle Ted passed and that they had several years together. She was a beautiful lady inside and out and she is missed by all of us.
Joyce and Gary both have been wonderful examples of Christ to me and have fervently prayed for my health over extended periods of time. I will miss her but I am oh so happy for her Heaven homecoming! Her smile, warm demeanor and the way she would wrap her arm around you every time she saw you was the best. Her life was well-lived indeed.
What a beautiful service. I felt like I was there. I learned things of Dave's life I never knew, and the great love from his family was very strong. I wish I could have been there to hold my sister's hand. She and Dave had such a long and wonderful life together. Jo's devotion to Dave was inspirational. Love you always, Dave. May you find peace in God's loving arms. You will always be in my heart.
Sending love to the family
Rest In Peace Dave ❤️

Marcia and family. So sorry to hear of your loss. Sending prayers for peace and comfort.
I've known Heather for a while. She was one of our parents at Hendersonville School for Little Folks and Hannah was in the nursery and then at Nessa's Younguns Natural Play Center 2.. Heather always had a smile on her face, and it was a beautiful smile. She was quiet, she never raised her voice or got upset. I always marvelled at how calm she was. I also admired her love for her children and husband. I always looked forward to seeing her-her smile and kind words always lifted me up and brightened my mood. She was a wonderful parent and an awewome fashionplate. She was a beautiful soul. I will miss her but she is free.....praise the Lord, she is free! May the Lord God wrap His arms of comfort around her family and shower them with His peace.
Robert walked into The Medical Loan Closet several years ago, and never turned away. He gave so much in so many ways. He taught me so much about many things. I so loved to talk to him and enjoy that great personality, and laughs. I was truly blessed to know him
Heather was always a joy to see at any place I might see her. She had a soft, sweet voice, a beautiful smile, and a laugh that made me laugh with her. I only saw her every 6 months for many years until my grandson joined Zander's jiu-jitsu class and then I saw her every Wed when I could go watch the boys. Heather never had an unkind word to say to me about anyone or anything. If the world were full of people like her, what a wonderful place it would be. I know heaven is much brighter and I look forward to seeing her beautiful face and hearing her laugh. I'm so sorry for your loss of such a precious person. I'm praying for each of you.
I met Heather when her sweet daughter joined my classroom at preschool. Hannah was definitely a mamas girl and their bond was incredible. Every morning we would giggle at little Hannah while she waited on Heather to help her wash hands and do the little things of their routine. She knew that Hannah loved baby dolls just as much as she did when she was younger so to help her with the transition, she’d give her a little babydoll and hug her goodbye ♥️ Heather was always checking in and making sure we had everything we needed and showing us her appreciation. She was always so easy to talk to and we’d start our days off with a smile. Heather’s last message to me was “thank you so much for everything you do to take care of my baby. I’m dying to hold her” The love that Heather had for her family and for others will forever remain. She was an amazing woman and even better mom. She is so missed but we are so thankful for the short time the Nessa’s family got to know her. ♥️
Mr. Seiler was a patient at the office I worked at in Hendersonville. He was always one of my Favorites. Always a pleasure to see and talk with when he would come in, regardless if it was about the weather or the remodel he was doing or the music he had recently went to hear at the Purple Onion. Please know how sorry I am for your loss. Prayers be with the family and loved ones at this time.
Always being there for me .. My second mom.
Will always remember Mr Seiler serenading the neighborhood, playing guitar and singing songs in the evenings from the back porch of their home in Birmingham. It has been many years, but will always remember them fondly. Always good neighbors!
He was a cool guy. Remember him and your mother well. He had a great smile too.
I love you,Myra Heather was always so nice to me I met her when she was six months old When I told her Happy Birthday on Nov 30,she immediately thanked me
Roz and Mark's family, Donna and I are shocked to learn of Mark's passing. Please accept our prayers and condolences. We so enjoyed seeing Mark every time he cleaned our windows which was many many years. He always had a smile on his face and was so kind. He shared his love of his family, and always would say: "Everyone knows Roz" which is so true from her many years at Pardee. He will be missed by countless people. John and Donna Crawford
Prayers for you all.
She was my child along with Myra and Chris and my heart is heavy but I shall remember the pure joy that she gave me. I will keep all in my prayers and know that you are and always will be remembered my angel.

Heather came into my life when I didn't know I needed someone like her. She changed my life for the better. Her smile, her laugh, her spunk & her fire was unmatchable. We talked all day at work & into the night about everything. I enjoyed our talks. I will miss her stories about her family, her smile & her friendship. She was truly one in a million. I'm so honored that God put her in my life. You will be missed sweetheart. I love you. To her family & friends, may you find comfort in the memories you have close in your heart. I am praying for each of you.
There are tons of memories I could share about my best friend Heather (Deb). One in particular, I was 18 years and about to give birth to my daughter. Me being a young girl, afraid to be a mother, Heather drove 2 1/2 hours home from college to make sure she was by my side. Heather is the type of person who is always supporting and protecting her family and friends. I can't put into words how much I am going to miss her. But I am thankful I have someone so special watching me from above.
Growing up I taught Heather in Sunday School and she had a very quiet disposition and was always got along well with other children. She had this wonderful smile on her fact and I remember how she always knew all the Bible Stories that we would talk about in Sunday School. She was eager to do a good job in class and I was fortunate to have been a part of her learning about Jesus. She will be missed very much but I know she is in Heaven along with other family members that have gone on before.
Our prayers and condolences to your family on the loss of your Mom and Loved one. My memories of Barbara are that she was one of a kind, a strong woman, always with a smile, always finding good in everyone. I believe that the love she held in her heart for her family will help heal and keep you all going during this difficult time. She will be sadly missed by ALL!

My God bless my good friend Roger Adkins Time goes by way too quickly. You’re never really gone as long as the people you knew still remember you. Roger, you are alive in my memories. The many memories that I have of my good friend Roger, over the 55 years that we were close friends, are all full of laughter, fun and wonderful memories. Roger could always find humor in everything and never failed to make me laugh. He had strong views and he would express them to his friends whenever he felt that it was necessary. I can remember many debates that I had with him. He never once changed my mind and I could never change his, but the debates were packed with laughter. We spent time together in Charlotte, at the beach, in the mountains, at concerts, and local bars over many years. He dragged the 5 foot shark that I caught at Kuri Beach to the shore while many observers watched and recorded. Roger never backed down from a fight and never started one. His life was full of love, laughter and “one of a kind” events that he often created. They say that the “charm” in a person is the “child” in a person. Roger never got old. I told him once that in his old age, he was losing his testosterone and would not notice cute girls. He laughed and said, “That will save me a lot of money and heartaches and that’s a good thing.” I will never forget the way Roger laughed. His laugh would make you laugh. I will never forget the many hours we spent together over many years and will cherish them all. Rest in peace my good friend and thank you for all the wonderful memories. I will miss you. With Love, Bill Briggs
My dear cousin Roger was intense, funny, very intelligent and a lover of life. He modeled for me how not to take myself so seriously. I will see you in the heavens Oatmeal Man!
Rest in Peace my Brother

Ernie and family,. My deepest sympathy to you and your family in the passing of your sweet Mother. I remember her well from Dr. Bailey's office. Losing your Mother is one of the most difficult losses to go thru. My Mother passed in August, 2019. May God's grace be sufficient in these days ahead.
I met Frances while caring for Mrs. Jane Long at Lake Forest Place in Lake Forest, Illinois. She had a very pleasant personality, and was always upbeat and ready to roll. She always came by to visit Mrs. Long and they would chat and have fun together. They would often attend activities, and have meals together. I first learned of chocolate-covered pecans from Frances and I haven't stopped making them since. She was indeed a sweet soul. God's speed Frances. I'll always remember you. ❤
R.I.P Sarge prayers for the family, his favorite scripture was Psalms 101. Write or 3 licks.
I will never forget working with her at Neighborcare and Park Ridge. We bowled together on a league also. Although we lost touch I thought of her often and her memories will last forever. My prayers are with you all!
My Aunt Leda was always smiling. She was loving and giving and even though I was adopted age 2 with her brother my dad Daniel Cosmenco I was Family never anything less. Years and Mike's kept us apart but we stayed on touch and on few and rare visit to Michigan we always saw each other. Sad to just today hear the news of her passing. RIP PEACE.

Barbara (Queen) was a sister to me. She was one of my best friends even though we didn’t see each other much in past years. Her laugh was infectious and her heart wide open to everyone. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten!! ❤️

Great co worker I'll miss him dearly
Jermaine became a part of mine and my kids family when he started dating and eventually married my best friend. He made us laugh. Always put up with my crazy shenanigans and me coming over and eating whatever I felt like at their house just because I was so used to doing that for 27 years. He even had a joke about the "cherries in the fridge." Lol. Gave good advice and listened to me vent when I'd vent to my best friend. Was there for my kids and me. Was so good to my best friend and their girls. My heart is broken for Kimberly, Gracie, & Izzy. Rest easy Jermaine. Your work here on earth is done and we will see you again one day my friend. I am proud to have known and loved you my brother.
You and your family are in my thoughts as you grieve. All our love to you and yours. Please remember that what is lovely never dies, but passes into another loveliness, star-dust or sea-foam, flower or winged air. Our condolences to you and yours
I will truly miss and remember my father in law for the rest of my life. Although the time we had together was short and sweet, it will last a lifetime. I will honor him the best I can. He was one of the most kind hearted men I had ever had the joy of meeting and I’m so glad that myself and his son had that chance. Although we didn’t get to visit a lot, I enjoyed the long talks and the uncountable laughs, smiles and joy. I loved and adored his “don’t mess with me or my loved ones” attitude and his kind, caring, loving, and giving heart. He will truly be missed. His grand babies wanted to say they love and they miss him too - Mikaya, Isabella, Kiara, Ameyah, & Anthony (his grandchildren).
I miss him, and the memories will be willde forever
Fond memories of Sarge from West Henderson (Class of 1986). He was one of a kind and a wonderful person. Prayers of peace and comfort to his family.
Please accept our since condolence at the death of your beloved Rosie. Upon reading her biography it appears that she lived not one but multiple lives, imprinting upon each her own love, zeal and devotion. We came to know her only near the end of her life but we are honored to have participated somewhat in her love for God and neighbor.
This took me by surprise and my heart aches for not being a better friend. At one time we were The Ya Ya Sisterhood. What fun we had!!! Steve, you and the children have my heartfelt condolences. God Bless until we see each other again. .
What a legendary teacher! Prayers for peace and comfort for the family and friends.
We were lucky enough to meet Rosie and Tim when we moved to Hendersonville in 2016. Rosie was an unforgettable woman with a lot of energy, multiple talents and qualities. It was a pleasure to visit her, to hear her stories about her interesting life, her travels, her experiences in distant lands and to be able to enjoy her beautiful garden. We will miss her a lot, but she will continue to be present in the nature that she loved, in every plant, in every flower, in every sunrise, in every heart of those who knew her. Now she is close to God. Rest in peace my dear friend. Love you!
A wonderful lady who showed unwavering kindness to everyone she encountered. She will be greatly missed.
I enjoyed sitting with Judy beside the pool. She was a delight and will be missed!

‘Grandmother Wilson’ was an adopted grandmother to me but she was even more than that. She was a friend, an encourager, and a constant believer in anything I pursued in life. She and ‘Big Papa’ (Mr. Wilson, as my brother and I called him) loved to take us to J&S Cafeteria. We would go to the mall together to walk and were amazed that they always saw someone they knew there. We loved playing Skip-Bo together and watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune in the evening. You will always be missed grandmother Wilson. You were a treasure that can never be replaced.
She brightened up a room when she walked in. We feel so honored to have known this sweet soul. She was our neighbor and friend. Doris will be missed and our hearts go out to Colin and all the family. Lynn and Mike Gilboy

I was the Pastor for Ruby and Kep for 7 years in Hendersonville and have been a close friend for the past 3 decades. In every way they exhibited loving support for my ministry, my wife, and my children, whom they took under their wings as "grandchildren." Ruby always carried a bright smile and a warm heart. The zucchini pies she made for me were second to none! If all people were like the Wilsons, being a Pastor would be the easiest job in the world! She will be greatly missed, but not gone in our hearts. See you in heaven, Ruby!
My wife Elizabeth and I were Tom's neighbor from 2016-2017. I spent a lot of time at Tom's apartment watching football and talking politics with him. He was such a genuinely good guy and a friend. I called him at the beginning of the pandemic to see how he was and never dreamed that he would've passed just 6 months later. We had a lot of admiration for him and he will be missed! RIP Tom!
Heart felt sympathy to the family of this beautiful soul. Prayers for each of you.
May your sweet memories bring you much peace,
Mom, you will forever be in our hearts. I miss you so much.
Lorraine was Mary Mildred Bowles’s (my grandmother) favorite niece
Lorraine was the ”nice” niece of my grandmother Mary Mildred Bowles. Lorraine and her sister, Virginia, (who were grandma's sister Helen’s daughters) rented a room to my beloved grandparents at their final years. We were never close but I respected Lorraine’s kindness towards my grandfolks.
Mama Ruby is what I called her A Angel put in my life by God Such a kind sweet loving and generous person saddened by your passing but Blessed to have known you I will truly miss you Praying for God’s comfort to all her family and friends Love You Sharon

Ruby was always so encouraging and happy in the Lord. She was a great help to us when we lived in Hendersonville as she often helped out with our kids. She adopted them as "grandkids" and they loved her very much. She was a wonderful friend and she will be greatly missed.
"Miss Ruber", as i affectionately called her as a little girl will always have a very special place in our family's hearts. We have so many fond memories of our times at Grace Baptist Church and the many years after we moved to Texas when we would go visit the Wilsons while in NC. I still have the ceramics she let me make at her house in April 1973 before our family, The Kilpatricks, moved to Texas. Our deepest sympathies and prayers for God's faithful comfort especially at the time of her homegoing. Sharon, we are praying for you. Love, Beth, Craig, Stephen and Nathan Bookout
My heart is heavy with sadness because I will miss my cousin. My last memory of a visit with her is a Sweet , sweet, Prayer from her heart for Pat and me. She was an Angel here on earth and now in heaven .
As cousins, I have a lifetime of precious memories with Ruby. There was never a sweeter, kinder or more generous person. Her spirit is like glitter sparkling in her wake and it will always show up in our hearts and thoughts whenever we think of her. Not every person makes a difference in this world. She did. I love you my dear friend/cousin and cherish all the lunches and conversations we shared. You were my spiritual shelter and inspiration. Thank you for your presence. I will miss you always! ♥
Ruby was a very sweet and intelligent lady .. she was so kind to everyone. She will be greatly missed . We loved you Ruby

Aunt Jan I have so many good memories of you. Won't forget our trips to Charleston with mama and you. So many laughs. Our trip with Heather was something that I will always remember. Us in a little boat getting stuck on the breaker. Hung out with you and Charles playing cards and laughing about ever weekend for a long time. Me having my third child and exactly one year later you have your third. Aunt Janice you will be so missed and I would have loved having one more day with you. You were special to mama too cause she named me after you what an honor. You would be so proud of your son's One of the hardest thing's to do is to lay your mother to rest. Mama, you & I had something unfortunately in common, we all lost a child's and there is no pain like that pain. No more pain for you and mama. I love you Aunt Jan till we are together again.
Donna

I have so many wonderful memories of spending time at Sharon’s house while growing up - even going to the beach with them in the summers. Ruby was beautiful both inside and out and treated me like a daughter. My heart is with Sharon at this difficult time but I know it will be a comfort to her to know her parents are together now.
Miss Ruby was one of the sweetest ladies I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. She will be missed greatly, especially by Sharon, and others whose lives she touched. I will miss her sweet texts. My heart is sad, but I know I will see her again. Praying for peace and comfort for Sharon.

I knew Lee when he worked at Dupont. I interacted with him professionally as a government physicist involved in mammography. I worked at the FDA and have truly fond memories of our discussions regarding medical x-ray film. Dupont, Kodak, and Xerox were the major players in mammography at that time, when our emerging focus was image quality and lower radiation doses.
I Know Boomer Loved her Daddy as much as I Love Mine!!! We often picked each other up as FRIENDS do!!! Love You Friend!!!❤️

This makes me sad. I was so honored to have been a friend and PEO sister to this truly amazing g woman. She was an inspiration to everyone she met. She will be missed. Heartfelt condolences to her family.
I met Lou when my daughter started Immaculata School. She had finished Kindergarten, on to 1st grade—-UNIFORMS! ! Best day of my life no more Deciding what Joan would wear to school. We went to Konsler house to pick out uniforms. That is when Lou came into our lives. She had the most calming demeanor. We later swam together at the “y”. Tom, my thought and prayers are with you and your wonderful family.
I always loved and had great respect for Mrs. Konsler. She was a huge help to me when I was trying to decide, in my 30’s, whether or not to get my PhD. She and Dr. Konsler had done it successfully, so she understood. She did not tell me if she thought I should go or not. She did share with me the advice her father had given to them when they started that journey. She said that if I were going to do it…do it…full time … all the way through… In the end, I decided I could not make that fulltime commitment, and so I decided not to do it. Oh, did I make the right decision! How lucky I was to know and listen to Mrs. Konsler!
Donna, keeping you in our thoughts and prayers.
The miles cannot diminish the memories of our many summers we spent with you. I was taught many lessons from a loving Aunt. You're all in our thoughts and always in our hearts.

I knew Mark through his window cleaning business. When working at my house, he always shared his pride in his son’s business savvy and his daughter’s creative talent. I am thankful that he was able to complete the AT because that adventure was high on his list. I send my condolences to family members.
Dear Tom and family, My relationship with Lou has been a quick chat after mass through the years. She was always kind and interested in my family. Tom, you and Lou are a beautiful example of lifelong faithfulness to each other and your faith! God bless you and may Lou rest in eternal peace.
I met Lou for the first time when I brought my daughter, Jenny, to the house. She was a first grade mid year new student transferring to Immaculata and Lou invited us to the house to try on uniforms from her supply. A warm memory that demonstrated her welcoming personality. Sunny befriended my mother Helen when she and Rap lived at Brookdale in Hendersonville. There couldn't have been a kinder, more supportive person to help my mother adjust to her new home. Later, when I frequently travelled to Hendersonville to be with my mother more often, Sunny also became a friend and support to me. My mother could not remember many of her old friends during the last weeks of her life, but she would smile when she saw Sunny's picture. I hope they are together again. I miss them both. Sunny was one in a million.

"Doc" is deeply engraved in every student who ever met him. he was a total riot unless something was serious and then the "principal" made an appearance. never once did i see him not be compassionate to a student.....until he had to "put his foot down" and be firm. i have always had good memories of both "Doc" and "Rowl". rest well, Doc and know you are missed.

Thoughts and prayers feom the Class of '89
Prayers for the family. He was a wonderful principal.
He was the best Principal any student could ask for - always fair, full of good advice and had the best demeanor. The day 8 of us girls skipped school from EHHS to go on a picnic at DuPont Lake in 1978 was a memory that will never be forgotten. We all had to report to his office the next morning not leaving an inch between us. After negotiating and pleading with him for an hour not to suspend us for 3 days he sent us back to class and told us we’d better not do it again. All the laughs and good times will never be forgotten by this great man. Sending my condolences to his family during their loss. Rest In Peace Doc Ledbetter everyone ❤️ loved you!
He was my Principal at East Henderson, a place where I grew significantly both academically and personally; in character development as much as educational. That happened under his watch and to him and for that, I am most grateful. He made a lasting impact on students that will ripple throughout eternity and for that, we are all grateful. Rest in peace, Doc. You will be sorely missed by many.
Mr. Ledbetter was a wonderful, kind and funny soul! I will forever remember meeting him in the hallways at East Henderson High with a smile on his face and a Hello, how are you doing today? He always walked with confidence and purpose. Thank you Doc for all the great memories ☺️ Praying for your precious family!!
Many talks with Doc when he come to me to have labs. We had laughs and he told me stories he had , always enjoyed seeing him. He will be missed. Prayers for the family

I just found out today about Sheree’s passing. She was our neighbor for 3 years in Kenmure. She loved having our babies over and holding them and letting them play with all her decorations. She was always so kind and bringing us treats. I am so sad to hear she has passed but she often talked of her husband and showed us his pictures. I am glad they are together again.
Miss you John. You always talked to God because you could trust him. Now you are with God and Larraine.
i knew jack for 50 years he was a great man and real consistent good hearted and i thought the world oh him my sympathy to all the family

I know you will miss him terribly. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you at this difficult time. May God put his loving arms of comfort around.you.
When I think of Anita, I picture her with a big smile. She and I were good friends beginning at Dana School in second grade. Our friendship continued at Flat Rock Jr. High School and East Henderson High School. I knew her mom and dad well. They were good people. I was delighted when I got to teach her son, Brandon, in kindergarten. Anita and I lost touch, but I will always remember the good times we had together. I am saddened by her passing and extend my condolences to her family.
I knew Bob by working with him at Alfersgate CCRC in Charlotte. He was a true gentleman and a great friend. He was truly an asset to the Aldersgate family! He is sorely missed! Rest in Heavenly power!
Jacky and family, I am so sorry to learn of your Dad's passing. Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Judy was a wonderful neighbor to my Aunt Hazel. Judy and her husband were always there when she needed help and checked on her regularly. She will be greatly missed in the Wolfpen neighborhood!
With my thoughts, prayers and deepest sympathy.
Chloe would often send me colorful homemade cards. Like when it was my birthday or when I was laid up in bed. She also made me gifts like holiday towels. A very giving soul indeed. Her daughter and son in law are my friends. I wish them peace in their time of loss.
Our family is saddened by the loss of John, but know he is joined together again with friends and loved ones and our dear Ms. Rainy.(Lorraine). These two were like grandparents to our girls. John and Lorraine loved kids and they filled a special spot in their hearts and John and Lorraine in ours. Thank you DiFiore family for sharing your family with ours. John and Lorraine will always hold a special place in our hearts. We are forever grateful for their love they shared in and of their home with our family.
Please accept our condolences on the loss of your father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to many. John became our good friend after meeting him at a motorcycle gathering back in 2007. From that point on, we shared many motorcycling miles and the many meals that go along with that. It was a privilege having "Italian Dinner" at the Difiore home and he and Lorraine were gracious hosts. We shared his sadness when he lost Lorraine and now share your grief because he has been such a good friend to us. In recent years, he and Karen made us feel like family again as we enjoyed many fun times together. We will miss him and his great sense of humor. God bless.
Sorry for your loss.
Bea was a dear friend while I lived in Hendersonville. She loved her family & always was sharing stories. Thoughts & Prayers to all her family.

I heard only wonderful things about Jack! He will be missed greatly, God Bless!
Praying for all of you with empathy. Funny how my Dad was born and reared in St. Pete (3160 1st St N) and died this past July in Flat Rock at Tore's Home on Spartanburg Hwy. I'll always remember your Dad sometimes reluctantly but usually graciously giving us permission to take the Prelude out on the weekends. That was very kind of him and your mom. Between the Prelude and the Celica GTS, we did pretty good. It's been a hard year but that just continues to encourage me to stay strong until it is my turn to go Home. Love you guys, Todd Swanson
Our thoughts and prayers are with John's family and friends. John was always ready to help and depndable. He and Lorraine were an awesome team. We will miss John's largeness of heart and body. May he join Our Saviour with his beloved Lorraine. HE IS SAFELY HOME! Requiescat in pace.
Thoughts and prayers to the Oates family. I had the pleasure of working with Ron at Pax River. He inspired all those around him with his incredible way of solving complex engineering problems to continually improve ejection seat technologies, saving many aviator's lives. It was a honor to be able to work with Ron, who was a true role model at work and in the community.
John, You will be missed. I so enjoyed our brief but fun conversations after Mass in the Chapel at Immaculate Conception. I loved that you always had your bible with you, it inspired me. You were a Blessing to me, each time I saw you. Dear Difiore Family, I grieve with you over your loss, my prayers are with you that the Holy Spirit will comfort you with His love and peace, always.

I was very fortunate to have worked with Bill in the early '90's at Glidden HBB. I was young and inexperienced, and Bill was always so gracious with his time and wisdom. I consider him one of my mentors. Bill had a great sense of humor. I remember him threatening to break the brew strength of the coffee maker if anyone moved it away from the strongest! When he was transferred to Dallas, he gave me a great deal on the snowblower he had just bought. I still have it. One of the nicest, most intelligent individuals I have had the pleasure of knowing and working with. My sincere condolences to Cyd and family.
My heart goes out to you and your family. My deepest sympathy to each of you and I am so sorry for your loss.
Destiny and family, We will always remember you and Kurt for the love and confidence you had in us. To all of the Reifschneider family. It was heartbreaking to find out about Kurt's death this morning. I am holding all of you close to my heart. Our family has so many sweet and funny memories of Kurt when our children were growing up together. Kurt was wonderfully unique with his strong opinions, his great sense of humor and his overflowing love. His laughter always lifted my spirit. I was saddened to learn of Lucille's passing in September. I apologize for how late this note is. I worked with Lucille at Peoples Federal Savings and Loan in Mansfield, Ohio when she and Paul lived there. I have such fond and wonderful memories of her. Her testimony for the Lord Jesus was so powerful. What a gentle and kind women she was! She often talked about her 2 sons as well as her extended family. There were MANY days she longed for her "mountains" of N.C. and to return to her home in Hendersonville! Lucille and Paul would often stop by my bank office in Lexington, Ohio when they visited Mansfield. Lucille will forever remain in my heart, she was dearly loved in Ohio! May God continue to bring you joy and comfort as you await your reunion with her in Heaven. Marty Campbell Lexington, Ohio
Margaret was a dear neighbor, one of the first to welcome us into the neighborhood. It was always a pleasure to share a meal with her and listen to her stories. Her love of family and her dear friends always came through. She will be missed.

A lovely lady. Not only was she a great teacher, but she was a very knowledgeable person. She was a valued teacher in Ohio and made sure that the children had fun while learning. She taught my 4 children, but became my friend in the process. She taught me many things about history and nature. I came to visit her from Ohio and she took me to some wonderful places in Hendersonville. I am truly blessed to have known her. Mrs. B. I know you are looking down on us and watching over all your students. Till we meet again, God Bless you, dear lady.
I will always miss talking to you, your laughter, your silly sense of humor, our visits with you. I will miss everything about you. You were the best daddy a girl could ask for. Sally, We have you in our thoughts and prayers. Don was one of the friendliest people we have ever known. He introduced himself the first day of moving into the neighborhood starting a 20 year friendship. There was never a day during the 15 years of living across the street that he did not have time for a conversation or to lend a helping hand. You and Don will always have a special place in our hearts.

Condolences and prayers to the Oates family. I had the pleasure of helping build the projects he designed at Stencil, many years of good times and accomplishments. Donald H. Cox
Dennis and I were in a men's group at Church. My fond memory of Dennis was seeing him walk down the center isle of church in his motorcycle leathers dropping to his knees at the alter and praying for his kids. Your brother in Christ.
My dearest niece is now at peace. The Russell girls-Judy, Teresa and Marilyn-remember many happy times. Our Russell extended family in NC have our deepest sympathy and love. Teresa Russell Dawsey

I'm so sorry to hear about Buzzy. I sent him a Thanksgiving card and it came back to me. Buzzy was my mom's boyfriend in high school. My mom was Camille Paypach Rollo. I was happy to visit Miss Marie, Buddy's sister a few years back. She taught me how to drive and was a long time family friend. It was in Hendersonville on that trip I finally met Buzzy. We had a nice lunch together with Miss Marie, Diana Farwell and a couple other friends. I have fond memories. I'm so sorry for your loss. He was a nice man.

Bill Ashmore – a man of grace, wisdom and character spiced by infectious humor. Having worked for and with Bill provided me with mentoring that strengthened the foundation of my career and enabled my growth to every expanding levels of responsibility and success. I’m forever grateful! There is no doubt that upon entering his eternal home, Bill was greeted with a resounding “well done good and faithful servant”.

I met Bill through Cyd and have loved his quick wit and unending ability to fix nearly everything. On several occasions the three of us would enjoy lunch while Bill chuckled as he untangled the mess I created on my cell phone. It turned out o be a long lunch! Bless you Bill.

Don was a kind and loving man. He truly will be missed
There is no word for “goodbye” in Cherokee. Instead, we say “donadagohvi” which means, “'til we meet again.” The last thing Em gave me was a arrowhead. She knows I collect them and she wanted me to have it then. She cared so much about making memories and staying alive in hearts so strongly that she said just always remember me when you see it because she knew then she was slowly moving on. She never cried when she told me she knew, she just smiled and was brave till the end.
So sad to hear this news. We enjoyed delivering Meals on Wheels to Ruth every week- she was the highlight of the route! May she rest in peace and joy. Our sincere condolences to the family.
There are some people that you meet in your life that have an impact on you only because of who they are and nothing more. I called Don my BFG (Big Friendly Giant). I can honestly say I felt love for this man. He was the first person that reached out to Ken and I at Holly Cove. He knew that we were 'green' campers and didn't have any idea with what we were doing. He helped (he could reach the high spots without a ladder) and gave us many suggestions. He and Sally became our first friends at Holly Cove and both are part of my heart. Sally thanks for sharing Don and letting me love him like a dad.
I am sorry for the loss of your aunt. The family is in my prayers. Heaven is a much nicer place lately
I worked with many great people at Glidden, but Bill was truly one of the best. He was a humble man with incredible integrity and he always had the total respect of his coworkers. He was one of the very best.
Ruth’s family, So sorry for your loss. Worked with Ruth for many years at GE. Our thoughts and prayers to all her family at this time. Sharon Thompson King & Tommy King
Bill was an absolute sweetheart once you got to know him. The way that he cared about Mrs. Cyd was just the sweetest. I learned that if Bill didn't pick on you, he didn't like you. haha. We would always joke around and pick on eachother. He was such a light. He will surely be missed and i know he will be Cyds guardian angel. Until we meet again Bill. xoxo.
In the short time we knew him, such an indelible impact he and Jean have had on us. A kind, polite, sweet soul from the first time you met him, he made you better. We shared our Sunday Nights at Covenant, a treasure we will always hold close.
To the family of Ruth Garren and Paul McCrary and Mark Drake. So sorry to hear of Ruth's passing. She was such a likable person. She was my wife's best friend for over 30 years. They worked together at GE for 30 plus years. Their Birthdays were on the same day..After the tears have dried and the goodbyes have been said, all we have to hold onto are the happy memories we shared with Ruth. This is what keeps them alive in our hearts. At this difficult time in your life, we pray that God will grant you the serenity and peace that you need to get through this. May you find peace and comfort knowing that Ruth has found rest in the arms of the Lord. Stay strong and know that you are remembered in our thoughts and prayers.
Jeff and Family, David and I are so sorry for your loss. Ronda will be greatly missed. She is an angel in Heaven now and will always be in your heart. We will keep you and your families in our prayers.
My first meeting Bill was when he came to work for Glidden in Columbia, SC. It didn't take long for everyone to realize he was on his way up with Glidden. He was eager to learn everything he could about the paint business but more importantly he was a people person. Everyone loved him and he fit in with any crowd. I remember going to Nordson Airless School with Bill and we learned to repack and repair the pumps. He instantly caught onto how they worked and was very proficient in diagnosing problems. He had the ability to make things better when assigned a duty. Was proud of Bill as I watched him advance with Glidden. Will miss him and the moments we shared. RIP Bill
Don was a great man and will be dearly missed. I’ve known him since I was a little girl. He would hang out at I 26 small engine with my dad. I know they are together now rejoicing in a better place. We will miss him every Sunday at church.
One in a million of sweet loving men. Don always had a “tall hug” for every lady and a helping hand for all in our close community of Holly Cove campers. He will be missed but remembered for his love of Sally and his family of friends.
Emily was a precious person. She had a kind word for everyone. She always had a smile to share. We are forever grateful for our friendship. She will forever be missed by each of us. Love and prayers for Heath, Skye and James and her wonderful family.
I met Bill when we both worked at The Glidden Company. We became friends at work and over the years that friendship grew outside of work. Bill taught me so much about paint and computers. He was my go to person for any questions I had. He was one of the smartest people I have ever met. We had many good times at work and a lot of fun after hours.. Even though we lost touch with each other over the years I know I could call him and it would be like we talked every day. He was a dear friend and I will miss him!

He is a person that came into my life through Holly Cove and he blessed me and others with his love and hard work. I will miss you Don , but your memories live on in my heart. Until we meet again RIP.
Don was a wonderful person always there to help when needed , great neighbor at the Cove. He will be missed
Hey Jeff, really sorry about Rhonda. It really seems like it was a few years ago we were all in school together. Time flies for all of us. Always hang on to all the years gone by. Great memories that can’t be taken away. Ever! Love you brother.
Margaret Lee was one of my first best friends while growing up in Smithfield. We were Girl Scouts together and always in the same class. She was always so much fun to be around. We have so many memories of being together. I just want to brag a little. She was our class Valedictorian, Head Cheerleader and was voted Best All Around in our class of SHS'61> She was also an accomplished pianist. Along with all of her accomplishments, she remained kind and always had concern for others. I feel very blessed to have been her friend.
All my love and warmest sympathies to you and your precious family. I loved Norma and Vaughn dearly; thank you for taking such good care of them. Lynn Cordell
Kalyan and Jim I am so sorry for your loss. Know that you are in my thoughts.
I remember Norma Jean being so proud of her son Jim and lighting up when her precious Kayla was around. She was a precious lady. I know she and Vaughn are happily reunited. Love and condolences to all her family and friends!
Jeff, my deepest condolences are extended to you and your children & grandbabies, I can't put the words together to explain the pain that I feel for you at this difficult time, I am so very sorry. Kim & Shane and the Summey family, my heart breaks for you all. My continued prayers to each and every one. Prayers for your continued recovery and to get stronger everyday. Remember to "Let God"....
I am lucky to have many many great memories with Brian. My wife and I visited him in Florida quite a few times. We hung out at the Crooked Elbow, visited with Barbara, shopped at Ron Jons, saw sea turtles, went to the Cape, Disney and Epcot, and swam in John Pennecamp underwater national park Marathon Key. Brian was the kindest, most loving and gentle person I've ever known, I will miss him every day.
