William "Randy" Smith

May 10, 1950 - June 30, 2020

William “Randy” Smith, 70, of Arden went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at his residence following a long illness. He was a son of the late Jasper Lee and Doris Ann Chapman Smith. Randy was also preceded in death by his siblings, JL Smith, Carolyn McMahan, Jerry Smith, Brenda Pace and Jeffery Smith.

He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army and enjoyed shooting pool, pitching horseshoes, playing cornhole and farming. Randy loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them, especially his grandkids and great-grandkids who affectionately called him Pappy.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Rosalee Lanning Smith; son, Randy Smith II; daughters, Donna Carver and her husband, Robert and Janet Speratos and her husband, Mark; grandchildren, Jason, Jeffery, Aaron and Ashley Smith, Sheri Hall, Jessica, Justin and Joshua Dockery, Brandon, Amanda, Jacob, Zachary and Brittany McMahan; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Preston and Tyler Smith, Kaylee Miller, William and Aaron Hall, Bentley Cunningham, Samuel Underwood, Nicholas, Faith, Lacie and Seth Dockery, Carmen, Isaiah, Reagan, Nevaeh, Milas, Bentley, Justice, Elijah and Deegan McMahan; sister, Linda McMinn; brothers, Richard, Michael and Donnie Smith as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Memorial Service will be held at Bethel Baptist Church on Thursday, July 9, 2020 at 7pm with Reverend Dennis Lanning officiating.
