Theodore John Fussell Jr., 90, of Hendersonville, passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at the Carolina Reserve of Hendersonville. He was born in Plainfield, NJ to the late Theodore and Anne Harkins Fussell. He was also preceded in death by his stepmother, Alice Barrett Fussell Fleming, sister Elizabeth Tobey and her husband Paul Tobey and sister Barbara Vega and her husband James Vega.

He received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Florida and served in the United States Navy as an Aviation Electronics Technician First Class. Theodore enjoyed a career in Fluid Mechanics as an inventor. His favorite hobbies included boating, fishing, hiking, and golfing.

Theodore is survived by his wife of 61 years, Margaret Vega Fussell; daughters, Margaret Fussell and husband David Berman of Kingston, Ontario, Canada, Elizabeth Foley and her husband James Foley of Hendersonville, North Carolina; son Theodore John Fussell III and wife Heather Fussell of Wasilla, Alaska; grandchildren, Anna Foley, James Foley, Patrick Foley, Grace Berman, Sylvia Berman, Theodore John Fussell IV, and James Fussell; great grandchildren, Elizabeth Foley, Henry Foley; sister Dorothy Kenny and her husband Oscar Kenny of Jacksonville, North Carolina; brothers William Fussell and his wife Susie Fussell of Mars Hill, North Carolina and Barron Fussell; nieces, Margaret Blum, Ann Grove, Janet Tsakis, K.C. Wallen, and Aliceson Fussell; nephews Paul Tobey, Theodore Tobey, Christopher Tobey, Ramon Vega, James Vega, William Vega, T.J. Fussell, Patrick Sugg, Stuart Sugg, Jay Vega, John Vega, Sean Grove, and Dune Blum.
