Gifts & Memorial Donations

Samuel Hubert Campbell, Jr, 59 went to be with our Lord and Savior on Sunday April 11, 2021. He was the son of the late Samuel Hubert Campbell, Sr and Gladys Geraldine Justice.

Sammy was a simple man who didn’t need a lot to make him happy. He enjoyed playing his guitar, listening to music, hiking in the mountains and visiting with his family. He was a good soul and would give you the shirt off of his back. He was a big strong man and always stood up for and protected the weaker and more vulnerable. He was a real southern gentleman and knew how to respect his elders.

Sammy is preceded in death by both his parents, grandparents, Rev. Charles and Jennie Justice and Hubert and Claudia Campbell, a niece and nephew. He is survived by a special guardian angel, Mrs. Cora Stephens, whose support and love knew no bounds, two brothers, Rev. Ricky Campbell (Millie) and Kenneth Campbell (Sandra), two sisters, Margaret Higdon (Donald) and Jennie Campbell, eight nieces and nephews, twelve great nieces and nephews, many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at the chapel of Shuler Funeral Home.  Rev. Ricky Campbell will officiate. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Sam was a special person, He was our neighbor for a few yrs. he loved our dog Chico and would feed him treats. Sam loved country music especially Arron Tipping's. We would laugh at the crazy things Sam would say or do. We loved Sam and will miss him so much. He had the best heart. Wish we could be there to say good bye. RIP Sam our friend

    Julie Laughter Dorsey says:
Sammy was a favorite relative. He loved music and had a good heart. Although he's gone, I think we can all learn from him still. To be kind and to take up for others. I never heard Sammy say a bad word about anyone. Rest In Peace cousin.
