Rosemary Dixon Pierce, 90, of Arden, NC died peacefully after a brief illness with her family by her side late Sunday evening, June 30, 2019 in Four Seasons Elizabeth House in Flat Rock, NC.

Mrs. Pierce was born in Tampa, FL on Monday, November 12, 1928 to the late John Harmon and Rose Lee (Bailey) Dixon. As the former Rosemary Dixon on June 10, 1950 in Tampa, FL at Seminole Heights United Methodist Church, she married her loving husband of 36 years, Mr. Taft Addison Pierce who died April 28, 1982. Mrs. Pierce graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Business and her husband Taft, graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Entomology. She raised her children to be responsible and loving. Her children remember her as fair-minded, loving and frugal. They will also remember her for her dedication to her loving relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and her deep enjoyment of long-held friendships, tenacity of spirit, love of beauty and her frank honesty and courage. Mrs. Pierce was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed crafts of all kinds, cooking, passing on wisdom and advising her friends and family to seek the guidance and help from our Lord. She was a generous giver, dedicated wife, mother and friend, who was passionate about all things chocolate. She was an active and dedicated member of the PEO, a faithful participant of Bonclarken, the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Conference Community and a devoted member of her church, Pinecrest Presbyterian Church in Hendersonville, NC.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her devoted children, Gregory Taft (Chris) Pierce of Miami, FL, Jodie Pierce (John) Luciano of Jacksonville, FL, Janet Sue (Jerry) David of Rock Hill, SC and John Dixon (Sandy) Pierce of Charlotte, NC. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, Laura, Alex P., Alex S., Cameron, Taft, Josh, Scott, Chad, Drew, Carlee and Catherine; 9 great-grandchildren, Elijah, Zachary, Addie, Pierce, Porter, Andrés, Reese, Josiea and Sophiea; and a brother, Jack Harmon Dixon, III of Sun City Center, FL.

Funeral services will be seven o’clock Wednesday evening, July 3, 2019 at Pinecrest Presbyterian Church, 1790 Greenville Hwy, Hendersonville, NC, 28792 with Rev. Rhett Carson and Rev. Chuck Evans officiating. The family will receive guests from 6:00 to 6:45 in the church sanctuary that evening. Graveside services will take place at Garden of Memories in Tampa, FL at a later time.
Memorial contributions may be offered on behalf of Mrs. Pierce to the Pinecrest Presbyterian Church, 1790 Greenville Hwy, Hendersonville, NC 28792, Bonclarken Conference Center, 500 Pine Drive, Flat Rock, NC 28731 and The Barnabas Center, 7615 Colony Road, Suite #200, Charlotte, NC 28226.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Mission Hospital, the Angels of Hospice at the Elizabeth House and the loving members of her community at Heather Glenn Assisted Living.
Rosemary will be deeply missed by her loving and devoted family and many dear friends.
