Robert A. "Bob" Lowry

Robert (Bob) A. Lowry, 93, of Etowah, passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at Pardee Hospital.  He was born in Bronx, NY to the late Alexander and Mary Rankin Lowry.  He was also preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Nancy D. Lowry, and his brother Richard A. Lowry.

Bob graduated from Stuyvesant High School in New York, was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and attended some college.  He was employed with Credit Bureau of greater NY and Bankers Trust.  Before settling in Etowah, NC, he previously lived in New York, NY and Plainview Long Island, NY.

He was a member of Etowah United Methodist Church and a member of the Free and Accepted Masons of New York since 1953 at the George Washington Lodge #285.

Bob is survived by his daughters, Linda Scott and her husband James of Snellville, GA and Carol Lowry of Dacula, GA; son Douglas Lowry and his wife Lisa of Zionsville, PA; grandchildren, Lauren Van Horn and her husband Ryan, Cheryl Scott, Susan Williams and her husband Joshua, Stephanie Scott, Kelly Lasseter and her husband Bennett, Matthew Scott and his wife Lydia, Alyssa Lowry, Joseph Lowry, and Alex Lowry; great-grandchildren, Kyla Van Horn, Amelia Van Horn, Emerson Williams, Evan Williams, Makynzie Lowry, and Eoin Scott; and special friend and loving companion Garlyn O’Leary.

A memorial service will be held  at three o’clock on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at Etowah United Methodist Church 110 Brickyard Rd., Etowah, NC 28729

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Etowah Horse Shoe Fire and Rescue, Etowah Valley Humane Society, and a charity of your choice.
