She was a meal coordinator for “Feed the Kids”, a program for school children with food insecurity. Rhoda drove for FISH, providing transportation for dialysis patients and sewed lap robes, blankets and quilts for Project Linus and Lutheran World Relief. Rhoda’s fondest hobbies were making old things new again, by sewing pieced quilts and cardmaking with a group at Carolina Village.

She is survived by her children, Linda (Robert) McElroy Thomas, David McElroy, Sherry (Dan) Carson, and Donna (Jamie) Hoch; grandchildren, Joshua (Emilee) Hall, Michael (Hillary) Hall, Alec Hoch, Trevor Hoch, Flor Hernandez, Khadija ElKaroodi, Danny Carson, Bradley Carson, Bethany (Aaron) Murfin; great-grandchildren, Brea Hall, Weston Murfin, Lucas Hall, Annie Hall, Avery Hall, and Sutton Murfin. Eleanor Wilson (USMC, Ret.); and many other relatives and friends.

A service to celebrate Rhoda’s life will be held at a later date. She blessed the lives of so many people and will be greatly missed.
