Norma Lee Buchanan Johnson, 82, of Flat Rock, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at Universal Healthcare of Fletcher.  She was born in Ohio on October 25, 1937.   She was preceded in death by her mother Margaret and father Emerson Buchanan; her husband of 34 years, Henry H. Johnson who passed in 2010; sister, Barbara; and brother, Gerald.

Norma was a devoted wife to her husband, and opened her heart and home over the years to many children in need of a mother, although never having children of her own.  Before marriage, Norma spent time in the US Army.  She worked in dietary for Beverly Enterprises for many of her working years.

She was a devout Christian belonging to the Church of God.  She loved her church family, and she loved singing and praising the Lord.  Even experiencing ill health in her final years, her faith was unwavering as she faithfully trusted the Lord with her life.

She is survived by three sisters, Rose Purvee of Brevard, NC, Anna Shell of Groveland, FL, Lorraine Mong of Howey-in-the-Hills, FL; one brother, David Buchanan of Eustis, FL; as well as numerous nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

A funeral service will be held at 12 o’clock Saturday, August 22, 2020 in the Kirby Memorial Chapel of Shuler Funeral Home. Pastors Larry Wilson and Jim Kilpatrick will officiate. Burial will be private.
