Nell Ramey

Nell Taylor Ramey, 84, of Asheville, passed away Friday, January 18, 2013 at the Elizabeth House.

She was a native of Clayton, GA, and resided in Asheville most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Loyd and Bessie Bingham Taylor. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Edward Bryce Ramey and a sister, Lillian Elliott.

Nell retired from American Enka Corp. and was a member of Dana Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Buddy Ramey and his wife Carolyn of Asheville and Tommy Ramey and his wife Delta of Dana; two grandsons, Tracy Ramey and his wife Melissa of Asheville and Matthew Ramey and his wife Maureen of Raleigh, NC; four great-grandchildren, Titus and Brook Lynn Ramey of Asheville and Emma and Henry Ramey of Raleigh; and two nieces.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 20, 2013 at Dana Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Blackwell officiating.

The family wishes to express their love and gratitude to granddaughter, Melissa Ramey, for the loving and excellent care to ìGrannyî for the past five years. Also, the family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to all the staff at Hendersonís Assisted Living Center and the Elizabeth House for the love and kindness bestowed on our Mother. A very special thank you to Rev. Dan Blackwell for his many visits and time spent with our Mother.
