Nell Wagner Carver, 90, of Hendersonville passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2008, after a short illness.

Mrs. Carver was a native of Hendersonville, born March 30, 1918, and was the daughter of the late Ella Fair McCall and Jess Theodore Wagner. She was preceded in death in 2006 by her husband of sixty-one years, Everett Virgil Carver.

Mrs. Carver graduated from Dana High School in 1935 and worked for many years in retail stores around Hendersonville. She was a lifelong member of the First Wesleyan Church of Hendersonville.

She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends and giving them samples of the vegetables she canned. She loved nurturing the flowers she planted around her home.

Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Ann Carver Arroyo and her husband, Will, of Tucker, GA; Amy Carver Burk and her husband, Mickey, also of Tucker, GA; two grandsons, Tate Arroyo and his wife, Natalie, of Lawrenceville, GA, and Stephen Arroyo of Alpharetta, GA; great-granddaughter, Mackenzie Arroyo of Lawrenceville, GA; and many loving nieces and nephews, including Rose Willis of Gainesville, GA, Al Gardin of Fort Valley, GA, Teresa Gardin of Hendersonville, and Jim Hensley of Hendersonville.

A funeral service will be held at 3 PM Sunday, May 25 in the Kirby Memorial Chapel of Shuler Funeral Home. The Reverend Mike Engle of First Wesleyan Church will officiate. Burial will follow at Shepherd Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the First Wesleyan Church of Hendersonville, 911 Highland Avenue, Hendersonville, NC 28792.
