Myrtle Lyda Rogers of Fruitland passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2010.

A native and lifelong resident of Henderson County, she was the daughter of the late Millard and Nancy Jane Owenby Lyda of Edneyville, and wife of the late Lawrence M. Rogers. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Otho Lyda; sisters, Sue Reed, Ira Duncan, and Phyllis Lyda.

She was a member of the Fruitland United Methodist Church. She was formerly employed by Cranston Print Works, and was a long-time member of the Henderson County Curb Market.

Surviving are her three daughters, Lauren Sitton, Olivia Henderson, and Dianne Jones; three grandsons, Eric Sitton, Keith Jones, and Kevin Jones; and four great-grandchildren, Ellis Sierra, Jaiden Jones, Mckinley Sitton, and Hannah Sitton.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Saturday, October 16, 2010 at Fruitland United Methodist Church. The Reverend Jerry Warren will officiate. Burial will follow at Shepherd Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Fruitland United Methodist Church General Fund, 66 S. Mills Gap Road, Hendersonville, NC 28792
