Melvin Eugene Honeycutt, Jr, 37, of Dania Beach, Florida went to be with the Lord November 29, 2020. He is predeceased by grandparents, Lyman and Gladys Honeycutt, and Uncles, Kenny Turner, Alvin Honeycutt, and David Honeycutt and Aunt, Betty Ann Honeycutt.
A native of Edneyville, Eugene was in the North Henderson High School Class of 2001, but over the last decade he called Dania Beach, Florida his home away from home. Eugene was known for having music in his ears all the time. He spoke of his other passions in life constantly, NASCAR, fishing, and his amazing family. He was the nerdy, gamer kid with a heart of gold. Eugene was a large individual; plenty of people were first intimidated by him at first glance but were often pleasantly surprised once they got to know him. He was a kind, gentle giant who will be greatly missed.
Left to cherish Eugene’s memory are his parents, Melvin E. Honeycutt, Sr and Pam Turner-Honeycutt; brothers, Kyle of Edneyville and Jerred (Shrilla) Honeycutt of Tryon; a niece, Astala; two nephews, Aston and Colton; grandparents, Don (Sally) Turner of Hendersonville and Ramona Turner of Edneyville; Aunts, Tonya Banks of Edneyville, Marie (Homer) Leslie of Hendersonville, Darlene (David) Campbell of Kentucky, and Linda (Mark) Lundell, of Dana and Uncle Calvin Honeycutt of Brevard and cousins, Eddie Riggins and family, Erica Riggins and family, Anthony Banks, Curtis Leslie and family, Stephanie Nguyen and family, Melanie Bezerra and Amy Guzman and family. Eugene also left behind his special Florida family along with many friends. The gaming community had also lost a dear friend from their clan.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Family has decided to hold a Celebration of Life which will be announced at a later date.
