Mary Wright, 73, of Hendersonville passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2021, at her home.

Born November 24, 1947, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of Frances and Walter Lane, both of Massachusetts.  She and her husband lived in several parts of the country including Illinois, Minnesota, Idaho, Colorado, and Florida, prior to moving to North Carolina five years ago.

Mary worked as a social worker, helping young children, before assuming full-time duties as a homemaker and very beloved mother.  Mary was an active member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Hendersonville and had a deep devotion to the blessed mother.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Robert Wright, and her children; Kimberly Wright, Katharine Billiot, and husband Chuck Billiot.  Mary is also survived by her six brothers and sisters and their spouses.  She loved planning and participating in family parties and always added her personal flair to the fun.

A memorial mass will be held at two o’clock on Thursday, January 28, 2021, in the Chapel of Shuler Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.  Graveside services will follow at four o’clock at St. John the Evangelist’s Cemetery at 234 Church Street, Waynesville, NC  28786
