Mark A. "Papa" Quinn

September 15, 1960 - July 21, 2020

Mark Alexander “Papa” Quinn, 59, of Henderson County, NC died after an extended illness with his family by his side late Tuesday afternoon, July 21, 2020 at his home in Hendersonville, NC.

Mr. Quinn was born in Hendersonville, NC on Thursday, September 15, 1960 to the late Robert Alexander and Mary Ellen (Ritter) Quinn.  From 1979 to 1985 he honorably served his country in the United States Army National Guard.  On July 20, 1985 in Brevard, NC he married his loving wife of 35 years, the former Diedra Holden who survives.  Before becoming ill he was employed with Duke Energy for 36 years.  He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Hendersonville where he would share the Gospel to all who would listen.  He was President of the local Christian Motorcycle Association, Chapter #520, The Master Messengers and loved riding motorcycles, fishing and above all, spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, Diedra he leaves behind to cherish his memory his three children, Shawn Wildes of Fletcher, NC, Shannon Fischer and her husband, Randy of Vicksburg, MS and Summer Green and her husband, Richard of Hendersonville, NC.  Also surviving is his granddaughter, Mackenzie Green and six grandsons, Brandon Fisher, Caleb Green, William Fisher, Devan, Bryson and Holden; two brothers, Matthew and Michael Quinn and one sister, Angela Lafalce all of Hendersonville, NC.

The family of Mr. Quinn wishes to thank the Oncology and Infusion Center of Advent Health and Hospice Four Seasons for all their love and care throughout the past few weeks.

A service to celebrate Mr. Quinn’s life will be held at two o’clock Saturday afternoon, July 25, 2020 at First Baptist Church, 312 Fifth Avenue West, Hendersonville, NC with Rev. Steve Scoggins officiating.  The family will receive guests in the church sanctuary from 1:00 to 1:45 pm that afternoon.

Memorial contributions may be offered on behalf of Mr. Quinn to the CMA “Run for the SUN’ Christian Motorcycle Association – RFS, Post Office Box #9 Hatfield, AR, 71945. Online condolences may be shared at www.shulerfuneralhome.com.

Papa will be forever missed by his loving wife, children, family and many close friends.
