Marilyn A. Mills Cauley, 53, of Hendersonville, NC, died Wednesday morning, April 29, 2009 at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital in Spruce Pine, NC.
Born in Henderson County, she was the daughter of the late Ulysses Clyde Mills and Mary G. Brooks Mills. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Kelvontay Armoney Logan.
A 1973 graduate of Edneyville High School, she was employed by Taylor Instrument Company during the 1980s. She enjoyed reading, writing poetry, cooking, collecting antiques, planting flowers and traveling across the United States with her husband. She studied with the Jehovahís Witnesses in Hendersonville for a considerable length of time.
She is survived by her loving husband of 29 years, Gerald Ronald Cauley of Hendersonville; daughter, Crystal Cauley Channer (Paul); son, Kevin Lewis Logan, Sr. of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Kevin Lewis Logan, Jr. Kyri Logan, Vann Dale Gray, Kevourie Logan, Azhrianna Logan, Khiantae Logan, KaíNaija Logan, Tyrese Cauley, Tiara Channer, and unborn grandson due in May, Zayne Nathaniel Logan; step-grandchildren, Shauntee Channer of Greenville, SC, and Sheldon and Showayne Channer of Jamaica, West Indies; sisters, Lillian M. Coleman and husband, Ronnie; Rita Bernice McWhorter and husband, Leonard; Niketa Sweetenburg and husband, Chris; and Sherelle M. Darity, all of Atlanta, GA; and Sheronne D. Darity of Hendersonville; and brother, Ulysses C. Mills, Jr. and wife, Linda, of Hendersonville.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to Gladys Mills (aunt); Patricia A. Clayton (cousin and very special friend); YaShara Lynch (special friend of the family), and Mary Jo Orr (Marilynís friend). She leaves behind a host of family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Sunday, May 3, 2009 in the Kirby Memorial Chapel of Shuler Funeral Home. The Reverend Clarence G. Rivers will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5 ñ 8 PM Saturday, May 1, 2009 and two hours prior to the service on Sunday at the funeral home
