https://www.facebook.com/shulerforestlawnfuneralhomes/posts/2730087703770034Marie-Louise Hathaway, 85, of Hendersonville, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 8, 2020. A native of Brooklyn, NY she was the devoted and loving wife to Edwin Roy Hathaway for over 65 years and the daughter of the late Bertram and Erica Stirn.

After high school, she graduated from Barbizon Modeling School and was employed as a NYC Fashion Model. She was a member of First Church of Christ- Scientist where she served in many capacities including a Bible scholar, church soloist, and Sunday school teacher. Marie-Louise was also a Girl Scout Leader, a private pilot, and a sailor. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing and crafting.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Susan Lynn Hathaway of Hendersonville and Barbara Ann Chilcoat and her husband, Roger of Gatlinburg, TN; grandchildren, Lindsey Alexis, Braden Lee, Oakley Charles, and Alexis Shea Trautwein, Amanda Marie Nall and Betsy Ann Chilcoat; and her sister, Mabel Amelia Symes and her husband Hod of St. Joseph, MO.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Edith Marie Smith, and her brother, Bertram Stirn, Jr.

A memorial service will be held on June 20, 2020, at 11:00 o’clock in the morning at Shuler Funeral Home with Rev. Grant Sitler officiating.
