Lorraine was born during the great depression on February 24, 1931, in Waupaca, Wisconsin when her father Frank Buck was 48, and her mother Matilda was 43. Unfortunately she passed away during the outbreak of the coronavirus. She had 4 brothers and 5 sisters. Lorraine lost her father when she was 13, and her mother when she was 15. Thanks to her guardian sister Evelyn, Lorraine was able to attend Bethel Academy and Wisconsin Academy. During her senior year, she met Dale and they married October 16, 1949. Together they raised their three children Ron, Judy and Randy in New Berlin, Wisconsin. Lorraine was a busy mother and wife supporting Dale’s contractor business and driving 40 miles round trip a day so their 3 children could stay in an Adventist school. She also drove the children to music lessons in the evenings, and helped each with their school work. Lorraine made sure their children were able to go to the Adventist church camps, as well as the Family Camp Meetings in Wisconsin. Lorraine and Dale were always active in supporting their Milwaukee Adventist church and school for many years.
After traveling around various places they settled in Hendersonville in 1991 from New Berlin, Wisconsin, making the Adventist Arden church their home. Lorraine helped with the church’s bulletin, other events plus part of the Lady Bug Club visiting church members while sick.
Lorraine and Dale celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in Hawaii and spent time in Branson MO with their children and grandkids for their 50th in 2000. They had 56 years together when Dale passed in March of 2006.
Lorraine was very active and always did so many nice things for friends and relatives. Her passion in life was being a caregiver to her parents, husband and kids.
Lorraine was a private person who will dearly be missed by her 3 children, Ron, wife Sue- Colorado, son-Mark; Judy husband-Mike-Colorado, and Randy wife Diane-Michigan, son-Jim & daughter-Rebecca; 1 brother-Carroll, and 1-sister Kathleen, and numerous nieces and nephews. Two long life friends are still with us, Doris Mayer (known since 1938 living in Janesville, WI), and Ruth Sackett from Bethel WI living near Hendersonville. We long for the day Jesus comes when Lorraine & family will be reunited (written by Judy Penley-daughter)
