Lois' kindness and thoughtfulness was demonstrated in the fact that she always kept in touch with another volunteer from the Sandburg Home who was aging and in a nursing home. She knew that I always cared about him and sent him cards as well, and she called me regularly to update me about him. She was a crusader, always working for more comfortable uniforms or other improvements at the Sandburg barn. She will be missed.
