Lewis Nesbitt

Lewis S. Nesbitt, 84, of Etowah, NC, died Friday morning, March 14, 2008 at the Elizabeth House.

A native of Transylvania County, NC, he was the son of the late Charles L. and Adit Kirstein Nesbitt. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Leonard Nesbitt and Lawrence Nesbitt and three sisters, Gertrude Baynard, Lettie Kitchen, and Louise Dockery.

He had lived in Henderson County most of his life and was employed by Moland-Drysdale Company before he retired. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his loving family, his son, David C. Nesbitt of Hendersonville; three grandchildren, Ronnie Charles Nesbitt, Stephanie Nesbitt Greene, and David C. Nesbitt, Jr.; his former wife, Reta Nesbitt of Hendersonville; one sister, Sarah Stepp of Hendersonville; three great-grandchildren, Hannah Hensley, Megan Hensley, and Joshua Nesbitt; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Fairview. The Reverend Cory Honeycutt will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 – 7:30 PM Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at Shuler Funeral Home.
