Leslie Moon Nawrocki, 64, of Fletcher quietly departed this life on Tuesday, March 9th, 2021, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Fort Knox, Kentucky to the late John and Ruth Moon.
Leslie was an adventurous soul who wandered through Alaska, Arizona, Florida, Wyoming, and Germany before choosing Fletcher to be her forever home. She retired from Clear Creek Elementary School where she had a devout passion for children and teaching. In her free time, Leslie enjoyed reading, gardening, sewing, and birdwatching. One of her favorite pastimes was visiting many of North Carolina beautiful waterfalls. Expressing herself was important and Leslie did so by painting. She loved spending time with her family and friends, and she will be dearly missed.
Left to cherish Leslie’s memory are her beloved husband of thirty-one years, Walter Nawrocki; a daughter, Faith “Tally” Nawrocki; a sweet pup, Daisy, all of Fletcher; and a brother, Michael Moon of Manson, North Carolina. In addition to her sweet cousins, Kenneth, Cindy, Vicky, and Karen, Leslie leaves behind a loving family at Clear Creek Elementary School.
A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date.
