Gifts & Memorial Donations

Leo Lindsey, Jr., 72, of Hendersonville went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at Mission Hospital following a period of declining health. A native of Western North Carolina, he had resided in Hendersonville most of his life, except the 2 years spent in Korea during his time in the Army. He was a son of the late Leo and Carrie Lindsey and was also preceded in death by his brother, Ronnie Lindsey.

Leo was a veteran of the U.S. Army and worked for 30+ years as Vice-President of Technology and Development for American Threshold Industries prior to retirement in 2006. He was of the Baptist faith. Leo loved being a handyman and always had a project to work on. He had a deep admiration for Harleys and Corvettes. He cherished spending time with his family, especially his beloved grandson. Leo was the best husband, father, grandfather and friend to so many.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Gail; daughters, Amy Metcalf and her husband, Jake, and Jennifer Williams and her husband, Danny, of Hendersonville; grandson, Dustin James Williams; “adoptive daughter,” Traci Leininger and her husband, T.J. as well as their son, Emmett, of Indiana; brother, Charles Lindsey and his wife, Jewel; sister, Louise Belton and her husband, Jack; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Sunday, February 19, 2017 in the chapel of Shuler Funeral Home with Reverend Phillip Youngblood officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2pm in the chapel prior to the service. Burial with military honors will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
