Joseph Basil King, Jr., 72, of Flat Rock went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at Hendersonville Health and Rehab. He was born on September 29, 1946 to the late Joseph B. and Ruby Jones King, and was a lifelong resident of Henderson County.
Joseph was the owner of King Ditching and Grading, and was proud to work for Henderson County EMS. He was a member of Bethel Wesleyan Church, and a fifty year member of the Blue Ridge Fire Department. He also loved hunting and going to the lake with Sam.
Left to cherish Joseph’s memory are his children, Chris King (Christina) of Hendersonville and Melissa Capps (Noble) of Zirconia; grandchildren Madison and Gracie King, and Ashley and Holt Capps; brother, Douglas King and family; and special friend, Artie Gallant. The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to Sam and Diana Dalton, as well as Hendersonville Health and Rehab, for the excellent care that Joe received, especially from nurses Glenna and Teresa.
A memorial service will be held at 1pm on Thursday, February 14, 2019 at Mud Creek Baptist Church. Pastors Tim Clark and Ken Weast will officiate. Family will receive friends after the service.
