John Thomas Hipp, Sr., 68, of Saluda went fishing with God early Saturday morning, March 18, 2017. He was the son of the late Thomas Pringle and Geneva Kiser Hipp. A native of Saluda, he had spent most of his life in Hendersonville.
John enjoyed fishing and hunting, loved the casino and liked anything that would satisfy his sweet tooth. With his quick wit and smart aleck responses, he made everyone laugh and his humor was contagious. He was a friend to everyone he met. He will be loved and missed by all.
He is survived by his children, John Thomas Hipp, Jr. of Morganton, Joe Hipp and wife, Robin of Myrtle Beach, and Laura Morrow and husband, Joey of Saluda; grandchildren, Levi and Silas Morrow, John Thomas Hipp, III, and Katie Mae Hipp; sisters, Julie Ann Gorden and husband, Don, Ginny Wight and husband, Dan, Christine Elliott and husband, Bobby, and Janet Hipp and husband, Larry; and one brother, Carl Hipp and wife, Cindy.
