John Calvin Lance, 78, of Hendersonville was called home by the Lord on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Life Care Center of Hendersonville following a period of declining health. A native and lifelong resident of Henderson County, he was a son of the late Markley and Lora Lance. He was also preceded in death by 4 brothers and 3 sister.

Calvin was an Army veteran and had worked at Community Cash for 30 years before joining Ingles and working another 20 years with them. He was of the Baptist faith and loved spending time outdoors and watching wildlife. Calvin was a fan of old cars and Panthers football, but his pride and joy were his 2 granddaughters. He was able to enjoy 59 years of being a husband to the love of his life, Linda and he was extremely proud of his children.

He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Lance; daughters, Susan and Andrea Lance; granddaughters, Olivia and Juliana Hill; sister, Viola Moorefield of Winston-Salem and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

A celebration of life will be held at 2pm on Saturday, January 8, 2022 in the chapel of Shuler Funeral Home.

We are so sorry to learn of Calvin's passing. He was a fine man. We knew him for years from Community Cash and later at Ingles. He and your family used to live on North Main Street near where we used to live on Hyman Avenue. My sister and I send our love, prayers and deepest sympathy to you all.
