Jerilyn (Rowland) Russell, 78, died on Saturday May 8, 2021 in Hendersonville, NC.
From her birth in Struthers, OH, on January 21, 1943 to her death on Saturday, she nourished people around her with love, faith, and humility. She was the second oldest of five children. It was her smile and spirit that attracted Thomas Russell to her while at a church youth function in high school. Upon graduating from Struthers High School, she attended the Youngstown Southside Hospital School of X-Ray Technology. Jerilyn and Tom were then married on June 15, 1963 in Struthers, and made their home in Cincinnati, OH, and later at Lake Santee in Greensburg, IN, and Hendersonville, NC. Jerilyn truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; active involvement in church, chatting with friends and family, knitting and stitching, and spending time with her family.
Left to honor Jerilyn and remember her love are Tom; their two children, Matthew (Kristen) Russell and Michael (Erin) Russell; six grandchildren, Hannah Russell, Ellen Russell, Megan Russell, Nolan Russell, Quinlan Russell, and Kellan Russell; three sisters, Jacqueline (George) Cummings, Karen (Michael) Yobe, and Susan Rowland; one brother, Fred (Darlene) Rowland; and many nieces and nephews. Jerilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Isabella.
Jerilyn will be remembered as a bright, shining light in the various communities and churches she served.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, May 22nd, 2021 at 1:00pm at First United Methodist Church, 204 Sixth Ave W, Hendersonville, NC with the Rev. Karen Easter-Bayne officiating. A Celebration of Life service and burial will take place in Youngstown, OH at a later date.
The Russell family would like to extend our gratitude to all the staff at the Elizabeth House, and the doctors and staff at Pardee Hospital Cancer Center and Pardee Hospital in Hendersonville for their attentiveness and loving care.

Jerri and I have a wonderful friendship when she used to live in cincinnati, ohio. I talked to her i think 4 or 5 months ago. Asking me how is her favorite star it is doing. I told her that I live on my own and that i am ok. She told me that she is very proud of me. That was the last time that she and i talked. She's been a wonderful friend and a beautiful woman that i will always cherish forever. I will miss her so much. Sending my condolences to tom and his family. Let me know if you all want anything or to talk. I'm here
