Jeannie Merrell Cannon, 92, of Hendersonville died peacefully on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at Fleschers of Fairview. She was born in Fairview on July 11, 1924, to the late Van Buren and Effie Merrell Dotson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, J.C. Cannon; sister, Evelyn “Judy” Dotson; five brothers, Griffin “Tip” Dotson, Henry “Cob” Dotson, Don Dotson, Mack Dotson and Furman “Tab” Dotson.
Jeannie was employed in the Traffic Department of Southern Bell for 34 years prior to retiring in 1980 and was of the Methodist faith.
She is survived by her sons, Phillip M. Cannon and his wife, Jill, of Charlotte, NC and Ronald J. Cannon and his wife, Inge, of Greer, SC; granddaughter, Myra Cannon; step-grandchildren, Scott Faries (Kim), Shanda Watson (Daniel) and Paul Faries, as well as 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Friday, June 30, 2017, in the chapel of Shuler Funeral Home with the Reverend Gerald Lyda officiating. The family will receive friends starting at noon prior to the service. Burial will follow at Shepherd Memorial Park

Our precious aunt Jennie. We will miss her but know she is not suffering. Our prayers and thoughts are with all the family.
