Jack E. Allen, 66, of Hendersonville, NC, died Sunday, February 15, 2009 at his home.

Before moving to Hendersonville three years ago, he had lived in Yancey County and worked as a timber harvester before retiring.

He is survived by his loving wife, Goldia Allen of Hendersonville; four children, Nancy Sitton and husband, Lee, of Horse Shoe; Avery Allen and wife, Shirley, of Greensboro; Carolyn Allen & husband, Gary, of Burnsville; and Paul Allen and wife, Beth, of Dana; six grandchildren, Christy Rogers, Amanda Thomas, Sean Morris, Brian Allen, Sydney Sitton, and Gerrin Sitton; and three great-grandchildren, Anna Grace Thomas, Payton Thomas, and Hayley Tranor.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

    Just had another comforting thought regarding Jack: Dad Often spoke of Jack and what a good man he was. He enjoyed his company @Hollaman's.
