J. Carlton Sizemore, 71, of Hendersonville passed away Friday, January 17, at the Elizabeth House. A native of Henderson County, he was a son of the late Lenard Stratten Sizemore and Lois Cleo Petit Sizemore. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Tiffany Joy Palencsar and two brothers, Troy and Kenneth Sizemore. He attended West Henderson High School and Blue Ride Community College and served in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant during the Vietnam War. He was a fifty-year resident of Henderson County, having also lived in Homestead and Kissimmee, FL. His talent as a machinist, technician and supervisor led him to jobs with DuPont, Kyocera and the City of Hendersonville from which he retired in 2010. He was a member of Hendersonville Presbyterian Church. Carlton is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Elliott Sizemore; son, James Chadwick “Chad” Sizemore of Hendersonville; daughter, Janelle Palencsar, her husband Lee Anderson and her son Wesley Dominic Case; sisters, Dorothy Carter of Hendersonville and Brenda Glover of Tennessee; brother, Marion “Bo” Sizemore of Hendersonville and sisters in-law Lois Sizemore and Evelyn Sizemore of Hendersonville. A celebration of Carlton’s life will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Hendersonville Presbyterian Church. Pastor Dwayne Durham will officiate. Military Honors will be rendered by the Henderson County Honor Guard and Army National Guard. The family will receive guests at the church following the service.
