Inez Johnson Dotson, 90, of Hendersonville, NC passed away peacefully with her family by her side early Wednesday morning, October 23, 2019 at the Elizabeth House in Flat Rock, NC.
Ms. Dotson was born on Saturday, July 20, 1929 in Graham County, NC to the late Charlie and Dora (Moore) Johnson.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her devoted daughter, Diane D. Ward and her husband, Jim of Hendersonville, NC and her son, Jerry K. Dotson and his wife, Norma of Knoxville, TN. and her daughter in law, Diane Dotson of Hendersonville, NC. She is also survived by her 6 grandchildren, Lori (D.J.) Cipriano, Marc (Christine) Ward, Kim (Jack) Davies, Bryan (Tara) Dotson, Victoria Dotson and Gregory Dotson; 15 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Thomas Johnson and his wife, Joyce of Greenville, SC, Ronald Johnson of Florida; sister, Mary McGuire of Hendersonville, NC. She will also be missed by her dear lifelong friend, Grace McKinna of Etowah, NC. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her beloved son, Michael Dotson and her beloved granddaughter, Kristy Balka; two brothers, Clinton Johnson and Glenard Johnson along with his wife, Vivian.
Ms. Dotson was a welcome smile for over 20 years during her long career in the customer service department for Piedmont Airlines where she enjoyed traveling and making lifelong friends.
All of Ms. Dotson’s life she treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as “Granna.” She will be forever remembered as a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother as well as a beautiful soul to many who knew her. She was deeply loved and brought immense joy to those around her.
At the family’s request services will be private.
