Ike Foster, 84, of Hendersonville died Monday night, October 18, 2010 at Autumn Care of Saluda.

Born in Tuscaloosa, AL, he was the son the late George and Lula Foster. He was also preceded in death by three children, Oliver Foster, Isaac James Foster and Isaac Jerome Foster; sisters, Josephine Pickens and Hattie Wedgeworth; and brothers, George Foster, Jimmy Foster and Claude Foster.

He had resided in Henderson County for 55 years and retired from Minute Man Anchors after 30 yearsí employment. He was an avid fisherman and a man who will be dearly remembered as a good father. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Maggie Lee Gooden Foster; children, Judy Gay and husband, Donnie, of Duncanville, AL; Isaac Laprece Mickens of Manhattan, NY; James Michael Foster of Hendersonville; and Aberdeena Foster of Northport, AL; his brother, Alec Foster of Alberta City, AL; sisters, Nevada Humphries of Worchester, MA, and Daisy Townes of Newnan, GA; twenty-five grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 12 pm Saturday in the Kirby Memorial Chapel of Shuler Funeral Home with the Reverend Al Waters officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
