Howard M. Shoup, 90, of Hendersonville passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at Hendersonville Health and Rehab surrounded by his family. A native of South Bend, PA, he was born to the late James and Gertrude Shoup. He is also preceded in death by his loving wife, Judith; grandson, Erin M. Shoup; and great-grandson, Cyrus Shoup.
He worked for Chemplex and retired from the United States Air Force as a Master Sargent after 22 years of service. He was a member of Pinecrest Presbyterian Church and the Knights Templar as well as a Past Master Mason for several lodges during his 60 plus years being a mason. In his spare time, you could find him camping, fishing, feeding the birds and gardening.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, James Shoup (Deborah) and Glenn Shoup (Kathy) both of Iowa; grandchildren, Jennifer (Shoup) Evans, Kevin Shoup and Michael Shoup; great-grandchildren, Keegan Shoup, Addiline Shoup, Ahleah Hook, Emily Wilkerson, Cade Wilkerson, Addison Diener, Trevor Shoup and Chelsea Shoup; brother, Robert Shoup (Joan) of Arizona; a special granddaughter, Amber Gibson of Hendersonville; and by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at 12:00 pm at Shuler Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rhett Carson officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the services. Howard will be laid to rest, next to his wife, at 2:00 pm in Western Carolina State Veteran Cemetery with military honors.

Condolences to the Shoup family. Worked and camped with Howard and Judy for many years. Howard was quite a story teller.
