Gregory “Greg” Savold, 88, of Hendersonville passed away Thursday, August 6, 2020 at his residence.
A native of Brooklyn and former resident of Long Island, NY, he was the son of the late George and Veronica Brogan Savold. He proudly served is country in the US Army during the Korean War and worked for 31 years at the AIL division of Cutler-Hammer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Joan F. McCarthy Savold, who passed away in 2004; and two brothers Robert Savold and Gerald Savold.
Mr. Savold was a very involved member of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church. He was a professed Secular Franciscan, a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus, and an extraordinary Lay Eucharistic Minister for church, home and hospital visits. In his spare time, he loved golfing and oil painting.
He is survived by his children, Ellen M. Savold of Hendersonville, Christopher G. Savold and wife, Mary of Cheshire, CT, and Gregory Savold of Las Cruces, NM; grandchildren, Devin Nicole, Lauren Elizabeth, and Brian Savold.
A mass of the resurrection will be held 10:00 am Thursday, August 20, in the main sanctuary of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The family will receive guests from 2:00 until 4:00 pm and 6:00 until 8:00 pm Wednesday, August 19, at Shuler Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association in Mr. Savold’s memory.

So sorry to hear of Greg's passing.He & his wife Joan were our friends for 60yrs. He was a good & kind man & very special to all. God Bless Him & always remembered.
