Glenn Sheffield Leavitt, 84, of Hendersonville, went to be the Lord on September 8, 2020 at the Four Seasons Compassion for Life Elizabeth House of Flat Rock. He was born in Boston, Massachusetts, to the late James P. Leavitt and Amy Sheffield-Leavitt.
Glenn served in the United States Army; he received both the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He received a Master’s degree at the Central Michigan University. Glenn later served as a program manager of the Michigan Commission for the Blind-Center for Independent Living. He was a humble servant of the Lord. Glenn was a member of Stoney Mountain Baptist Church. was a faithful student of the Bible (KJV). Glenn enjoyed writing, especially about discovering and exciting information about his ancestors.
Left to cherish Glenn’s memory is his wife, Julie Leavitt of Hendersonville; a son, Clifford Leavitt (Carol) of Traveler’s Rest, South Carolina; grandchildren, Patrick and Emily Leavitt; a step-son, Kenneth Ries (Pamela) of Florence, South Carolina; and step-grandchildren Amanda and Emma of Florence, South Carolina and one brother, Preston Leavitt of Pennsylvania. A special pup named Skeeter will miss Glenn.
