Glen M. Whittle, 63, of Mills River passed away Tuesday, March 27, at his home. A native of Tampa, FL, he was a son of the late Winston Whittle and Dorothy Hazlett. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Gary Whittle. He had lived in Dallas, TX prior to moving to North Carolina in 1987. He was a journeyman plasterer, having worked over 40 years in commercial and residential construction. In his earlier years he was a member of the Showmen’s Association. He was of the Baptist faith. Glen is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Tina Whittle; a sister, Gayle Whittle of Tampa; a niece, Callie Whittle Lynch, her husband Joel and their children Abram and Larkin of Franklin, NC and numerous extended family in the Tampa metro area. A celebration of Glen’s life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 120 Executive Park, Asheville, NC 28801, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O.
