Georgia Lee Glenn, 66, of Horse Shoe, NC, exchanged this home on Earth for her Heavenly home in Glory January 18, 2009. She was our sister, mother, Nannie, and friend.
A native and lifelong resident of Henderson County, she was the daughter of the late Eugene Woodfin Glenn, Sr, and Etta Josephine Murray Glenn.
She worked at Kimberly Clark for 28 years before retiring in 1991. For over ten years, she enjoyed researching her family genealogy.
She is survived by her loving family, her son, Eugene Jay Cantrell and wife, Brigitte, of Horse Shoe; grandson, Jordan Tyler Lee Cantrell; her friend and companion of 17 years, Larry Payton Pace; Larryís two daughters, Alice JoAnn Pace and Elizabeth Rudder; two grandchildren, Makayla and Payton Rudder; two sisters, JoAnn Glenn Cairnes and husband, Fleet, and Jeanette Glenn; her brother, Eugene Woodfin Glenn, Jr. and wife, Sheran; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 ñ 8 PM Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at Shuler Funeral Home. All friends and family are invited to celebrate her life at 8 PM in the Kirby Memorial Chapel of Shuler Funeral Home. The Reverends Parasadie Gentry and Andy Craver will officiate. Burial will be at 1 PM Wednesday at Shepherd Memorial Park.
