Gifts & Memorial Donations

On the evening of Wednesday, October 20, 2021, while surrounded by his loved ones, Mr. George W. Osteen, age 89, passed away peacefully at his residence in Hendersonville, North Carolina. A native and lifelong resident of Henderson County, he was born on July 18, 1932, and was the son of the late George and Bessie Shipman Osteen.

George, who never met a stranger, enjoyed camping, fishing and car shows.  Known to be a jokester, you could find him dancing on Main Street in Hendersonville anytime there was live music playing or hanging out with the local men at the General Store. George absolutely loved his family, especially his grandkids, and worked hard to provide for their needs and to make sure they enjoyed life. He was a member of Valley Hill Baptist Church.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Elaine Merrell Osteen; one daughter, Angela Osteen Vaughan; one son, George Lindsey Osteen and his wife, Tracy; and two wonderful grandchildren, Emma and Dalton Osteen.

A graveside service will be held on Monday. October 25, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. at Shepherd Memorial Park with Pastor David Woody officiating.
