Gifts & Memorial Donations

Gail Marie Gillgam Harrelson unexpectedly went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 21, 2022. She was the first born child of Harlo and Mary Camp Gillgam, coming into this world on October 14, 1945. Waiting for her in eternity in addition to her parents are all of her siblings: sisters Ann Gillgam Butler, Jean Gillgam Greene, and brother James Robert Gillgam.

She is survived by her husband, R. C. Harrelson of Edneyville; daughters Mary Elizabeth Harrelson Murphy (Mark) of Edneyville and Anna Marie Harrelson of Arden; and three grandchildren: Andrew Curtis Murphy of Dallas, TX, Trevor Christian Murphy of Edneyville, and Skylar MacKenzie Murphy of Wilmington. She will be missed by the family she loved so faithfully.

She was a 1963 graduate of Hendersonville High School. She was most content when being a homemaker but did work at General Electric of Hendersonville for several years. She was Postmaster Relief at Edneyville and Union Mills for 16 years and was acquainted with many members of both communities. She attended Fruitland Methodist Church for many years and was currently an inactive member of Biltmore Church Hendersonville campus. She had a deep abiding faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and cherished the Holy Bible. Her fondest wish was that her family, friends, and acquaintances would follow her in her faith in Jesus and spend eternity with her in His presence.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 27th at 2:00pm in the Chapel at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. A committal will follow the service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Gail and Bobby made a beautiful team caring for those around them always ready to pray if needed. Praying for the family, Gail was such a sweet lady when I was a young teen hanging out at their house. I was always delighted to see her thru the years and catch up on how her family was doing. Beth and Anna, we pray the Lord will comfort your hearts now and in the days to come.
