Frederick Richard Doolittle, 93, of Henderson County, NC died late Thursday afternoon, November 7, 2019 after an extended illness at The Laurels of Hendersonville.

Mr. Doolittle was born on Saturday, July 24, 1926 in Delaware County, Indiana to the late Lloyd Lester and Bessie (Corrello) Doolittle.  On February 1, 1948 in Muncie, IN, he married his loving wife of 71 years the former Madalynn Luzadder who survives.  From 1944 to 1945 he proudly served his country in the United States Navy during WWII.  He was a Hospital Based Engineer and was a faithful member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.  He enjoyed Carpentry and painting, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife he leaves behind to cherish his memory his 3 sons, Frederick R. Doolittle, Jr. and his wife Barbara of Walnut Creek, CA, Terry G. Doolittle of Silver City, NM and Kirk R. Doolittle and his wife Carol of Chocowinity, NC.  Also surviving are 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren and 1 sister, Barbara Mueller of Muncie, IN.  In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his 5 brothers.

At the family’s request there will be no services.

Memorial contributions may be offered to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Fred will be forever missed by his loving and devoted family and many good friends.
