Frederick “Fred” J. Carberry, 81, of Hendersonville went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 27, 2016. He was born June 24, 1935 in Albion, Pennsylvania to the late Charles and Rose Marie Carberry.
Fred was a graduate of Gannon University and was a US Army veteran, stationed at Fort Knox, KY. He relocated to Pembroke Pines, FL and was employed with the Port of Miami in Dade County as the Finance Director. Upon moving to Hendersonville in 1985, he and his wife, Marie, owned and operated the Claddagh Inn until 1992. Fred was a member of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church and was a 4th Degree Grand Knight. He was also a volunteer for Interfaith Assistance Ministry, Feed the Kids and the Free Clinics.
Surviving are his wife of 30 years, Marie Carberry; son, Tim Carberry; stepson, Eric Brehm; grandson, Darian Brehm; and very dear friends, Darlene Ranger and Pat Benton.
A mass of the resurrection will be celebrated at 10:00am on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 in the main sanctuary of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church by Reverend Roberto Perez. A reception will be held in the St. Francis Hall following the service. Burial will be private.
