Everest Correa, 96, of Hendersonville, NC passed away on Monday, December 7, 2020 at Carolina Village Medical Center.
Everest was born in Fall River, Massachusetts on May 3, 1924. For most of his life, he lived in Putnam, CT and Hendersonville, NC.
Everest was a United States Air Force veteran having served in World War II in the European Theater of Operations – 8th Air Force 44th Bomb Group. He was a pilot of B-24s and completed 35 Bomb Missions. He then graduated from the University of Massachusetts – Dartmouth with a Bachelor of Science in Textile Engineering. He was employed by Belding Corticelli for 35 years retiring as Director of Manufacturing at the Hendersonville plant.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Antonio Correa and Mary Mello Correa; three brothers; four sisters; and two sons, Wayne and Mark.
He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Pauline Correa of Hendersonville, NC; a son, Brian Correa of Stillwater, OK; two daughters, Nancy Correa of Wake Forest, NC and Laurie Elliott and her husband, John, of Hendersonville, NC; six grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
The family will have a private memorial service at a later date.
