Elsie “Caroline” Hooper, 77, of Hendersonville went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 7, 2019 at her residence following a period of declining health. A native of Highlands, NC, she had resided in Henderson County most of her life. She was a daughter of the late Dwight and Doris Hawkins Hardin. Caroline was of the Baptist faith and loved to listen to audio books, crochet and garden.
She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, John Hooper; daughters, Mary Carson (Steve) and Carrie Griffith (Ed); the son she never had, Chris Rawlins; grandchildren, Tyler Carson, Ben Rawlins, Amanda Prindle and Allyson Greenlee; great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Payton.

Aunt Caroline was an inspiration to me about determination and optimism, and about taking what life gives you with grace and poise. I will always remember the gentle kindness, cheerfulness and love she showed towards me, my husband, and my children as well as her brother, James- my father.
