Edward Michael Asselin, 70, of Mills River, North Carolina, unexpectedly passed away at his residence on Wednesday, May 18, 2022. Born in Palm Beach, Florida, to the late Joseph and Jean Asselin; Mickey is also predeceased by brothers Allen and Robert Asselin.

Mickey volunteered in the US Air Force to serve our grateful Nation. Over the years, Mickey lived in England and Nevada, but after returning to Florida and working for the city of Palm Beach he decided to move his family to Western North Carolina. He was Catholic and a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. In his free time, Mickey enjoyed spending time with his family and working on cars. He was an excellent carpenter.

Left to cherish Mickey’s memory are his wife of forty-seven years, Ava; daughter Lisa Borges, both of Mills River, North Carolina; sons Richard (Heather) Asselin of Hendersonville, North Carolina, and Michael Asselin of Port St. Lucie, Florida; and his beloved grandchildren Ashley Gaydos, Kaityln Asselin, Brett Asselin, Gage Asselin, Brenna Seay, Caiden Worthy, Peyton Worthy, Shaylin Asselin and Connor Asselin. In addition, Mickey also leaves behind sisters-in-law Pam Asselin of Margate, Florida, Jeanette of Royal Palm, Florida; and special family members Jennifer, Clint, Cliff, Eric, Thomas, David, and Steven.

    Mark Braly says:
City of Hendersonville. He was my right hand man. I remember him yelling at me he was in t he ditch and I was the operator, along with being his Crew leader. All the other guy's would look at Ed and then look to see my reaction. I had none so they ask why are you yelling at Mark his reply is he's deaf and can't hear to good. True story
