Edward “Ed” Manno, Jr., 79, of Hendersonville, NC passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2022.
Ed was born in Brooklyn, NY on December 14, 1942, to the late Edward and Josephine Manno. Ed is also preceded in death by his siblings, Phyllis, Vincent, and Joseph Manno.
Prior to moving to Henderson County, NC, Ed also lived in Long Island, NY. Ed retired as a New York City Detective in 1984, and worked in Private Security for the remainder of his career.
Ed is survived by his wife, Susan Manno; daughters, Theresa Manno Taub (Tracy), Michelle Mitchell (Michael), and Debbie Jones (Tim); son, Eddie Manno (Karen Cerino); grandchildren, Blair, Joseph, Erin, Samantha, Eddie, Zack, Nick, Allie, William, and Christopher; great-grandchildren, Brayden, Calianna, Charleigh, Alena, Joey, Jason, and Ryleigh.
A visitation will be held at Shuler Funeral Home in Hendersonville, NC on Saturday, February 12, 2022, from 12 to 1PM with the funeral service to follow at 1PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ed’s memory to Four Seasons Elizabeth House, 581 South Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731.

Ed was the the first and closest neighbor we had when we moved into Blacksmith Run. He happily shared his house plans with us and it was the basis for our new home and the beginning of a new Hendersonville friendship. We loved seeing him ride around in his sport car with the top down and a big smile on his face. That smile lit up the whole street
