Gifts & Memorial Donations

Eddie Chapal, 90, of Hendersonville passed away Sunday, April 30, 2017 at Pardee Hospital following a valiant fight for many years.  A native of San Antonio, TX, he was a son of the late David and Raquel Vela Chapal.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Joan Marie Chapal, who passed in 2010.

Eddie served his country in the US Navy during WWII and earned a Bachelor’s Degree at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio.  He then moved to Denver, met his future wife, Joan and there, they raised their family.  They later moved to Bonita Springs, FL and lived there for 10 years before retiring to Hendersonville, where he lived for the past 20 years.

He had a long career in real estate and for the past several years, had helped his daughter in her dog grooming shop.  He was a talented skier on the snow and water and avid doesn’t even describe his love for the Denver Broncos.

He leaves behind his son, Scott E. Chapal and wife, Tara of Arden; daughter, Laura W. Chapal-Figueroa and husband, David of Hendersonville; grandson, Benjamin H. Chapal; brother, Freddie Chapal; and his Dandie dinmont terrier, Autumn.

The family will have a gathering of friends from 2-5 PM on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at Eddie’s home, 18 Tisha Lane, Hendersonville.  Friends can drop by at a time that’s convenient for them.

Our Hearts go out to the "Eddie Chapal " families and friends from our " Fred Chapal " family. Our hearts are hurting too. We will miss Uncle Eddie's intense Love for his family, continuous and unending dedication to both Laura and Scott & their families and his grandson Ben. We will Miss Eddie's contagious laughter, fabulous sense of humor, his die hard Love for his team "Denver Broncos", his love for sports such as skiing and soccer, his love of animals, his ability to always make a friend. Eddie always referred fondly & jokingly to Dorothy as his favorite sister-in-law and to me, KK, jokingly, as his favorite niece. He called Freddie the " Old Man". WE LOVE YOU EDDIE CHAPAL ! WHAT A BLESSING AND HONOR IT IS TO HAVE HAD YOU FOR MY FAVORITE UNCLE! Peace be with YOU and to YOUR Whole family!!! We Will Always & Forever Love You! The Fred Chapal Family
