Donnie Hill

February 6, 1947 - May 15, 2011

Donnie Lee Morgan Hill, 64, died Sunday, May 15, 2011 at Park Ridge Hospital.

She was born and raised in Saluda, NC. After marrying her husband, Charles Hill, she moved to East Flat Rock where they raised their sons, Lynn and Jerry.

Donnieís greatest pleasure in life was serving her family. She also enjoyed serving Henderson County as a bus driver, while toting two generations of children to and from school. Never one to be still, she was happiest when in action. She treasured Jesus, her friends, her church family at Zion Hill Baptist Church, her beautiful flowers, and her funny little dogs.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Q.C. and Bertha Hollifield Morgan, and her brother, Richard Morgan.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Edward Hill; her sons, Lynn and his wife, Kim, and Jerry and his wife, Mitzi; and her grandchildren, Ashton, Hunter, Trenton, and Chelsie Hill.

Because her dream was to cook and serve meals to the sick and shut in, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made, in her honor, to the Council on Aging Meals on Wheels program, 105 King Creek Blvd, Hendersonville, NC 28792.

A memorial service will be held at 6 PM Thursday, May 19, 2011 at Zion Hill Baptist Church. The Reverend Mike Jackson will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. At other times, they will be at the home.
