Donald W. Krichbaum, 82 of Hendersonville, NC, died at home of pneumonia after a long struggle with Parkinson’s Disease. He was born in Chicago, Illinois to the late John and Eleanore Krichbaum. He later moved to Beaverton, Oregon before settling in Hendersonville in 1995.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from I.I.T. and went on to get an MBA from the University of Chicago. Donald started his career with Edison in Chicago and moved on to work for Portland General Electric in Oregon, where he met his wife, Sue.
Don was a wonderful and loving husband, father, and son. He was a fascinating man because he was interested in everything: music of all types, especially Theater Pipe Organ, nature and science, fishing, gardening, technology, and travel. He was always learning new things, which made him really interesting company.
Don was witty, charming, and delightful to the end and his friends will all remember him for his unique sense of humor. He was very much loved and will be missed.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sue Krichbaum and his son Randy Krichbaum and his wife Margaret of Turner Valley, Alberta, Canada

My traveling with friend Don - will I miss you "YES" now who am I going to tell to "shut up" and when will I hear "your shut up to me". All the times that your name come to my mind - I'll hear you telling me to "shut up". Love you dear friend with all your ideas of traveling and saving deals that we all enjoyed together. And the Russian nesting dolls that you bartered for both of us to come up with a good deal. Please watch over us now from where you are - I know I'll join you one day. Friend, Marcella
